Shanghai Dumpling King

Such great food! The veggies are cooked to perfection. The sweet and sour pork is tender and moist inside and crunchy on the outside. We love the soup dumplings too.Food: 5/5

The dumplings here I would say are the best that I've tried in SF. Would give this spot a 5/5 but the staff are all over the place and don't pay much attention to you. Once I waited 45 minutes for a to-go order.

I initially rated this restaurant 4 stars because they forgot my sauce, but honestly, the green beans here are absolutely amazing—definitely deserving of 5 stars. I'm more than happy to spend my money here anytime. It's just that good!

Always delicious food and excellent,fast service! My favorites are the sugar egg puffs, pea sprouts with garlic, spicy chive and pork dumplings, and the rice cakes with bacon! I've loved everything I've ever gotten here, truly. I'm not sure why their rating is what is is on here, because this place is delish!

Soup dumplings are delicious! Thought I'd splurge a little and order the fancy version with crabs roe but to my surprise the owner friendly reminded me that the CHEAPER regular version is more delicious, which I went with in the end. Never have I experienced a restaurant owner giving up making more money for the sake of customers' good, so 4 star on food plus 1 star sincerity for you : Voir le carte

Greasy. Very greasy! I wouldn't recommend the noodles; they're just drenched in grease. The Hot and Sour Soup was extremely spicy with no hint of sourness—so much so that it was inedible. When we asked for the check, the waiter noticed the full bowl on our table and asked if we wanted it packaged to go. No, thank you! He didn’t suggest that the cook (who certainly wasn’t a chef) remake it for us or offer any assistance. So, we paid the bill, left a modest tip, and promised ourselves that we would NEVER return.

I placed my order over the phone and picked it up, but later realized that two items were missing. When I called back, the staff member insisted that we weren't overcharged and attempted to calculate what our total should have been without the missing items. However, it turned out we were indeed overcharged. I also ended up tipping far too much for takeout. Additionally, the food hardly resembled authentic Shanghainese cuisine, and the portion sizes were quite small. Unfortunately, I won't be coming back to this restaurant.

We ate here on Friday, New Years Eve. Ever since Ton Kiang closed we have been searching for another place to eat Dim Sum/dumplings in the City. We saw this place on a list somewhere and decided to try it out. We ordered the spicy dumplings, spicy shrimp and chive dumplings, pea shoots in garlic sauce, chive pancake and pot stickers. We asked the nice waiter if we were missing anything good and he suggested the Shanghai dumplings and the steamed pork buns, which we added. Let me tell you, everything was AMAZING!
