I visited Sigiri, a Sri Lankan restaurant in Manhattan, NY, today, and I was impressed by the flavors of the food. The lamprais consisted of a delicious combination of chicken, fish cutlet, and egg, among other ingredients.

The food here is AMAZING! Authentic and properly spiced! Their lamprais is my most favorite meal ever! Wow wow wow!!! I was so worried when I heard a rumor they’d close down after Covid but I’m so glad they’re open. This lamprais is my death row meal.

Cozy hole in the wall style restaurant with excellent authentic food. Everything was so flavorful it was our first time eating Sri Lankan food and I enjoyed everything.It should go without saying but all the meals are richly spiced. You can ask for the curries mild, but they'll still have a bit of a kick. Voir le carte

I had a terrible experience trying to reserve a table. The person I spoke to showed no courtesy and didn’t listen to the number of people in our party. Instead, I was just told to walk in. When we arrived, we were greeted rudely and instructed to sit outside. I never expected such treatment from such a well-known establishment. It was truly disappointing. This place no longer represents Sri Lankan hospitality, which is renowned worldwide.

This is a fantastic restaurant! It's a cozy spot in Manhattan with limited seating and just one person managing waiting and seating. I assume there was another cook in the kitchen. If you're not in a hurry and enjoy spicy food, I highly recommend checking it out. The flavors were amazing, the heat just right, and everything was cooked to perfection. We arrived around 7:30 PM, and most tables were available, but by 8:00 to 8:15 PM, every table was occupied. One note: the place is not wheelchair accessible.

As someone from Galle, Sri Lanka, I can confidently say that the food here is exceptional. It's genuinely authentic and of high quality. Sri Lankan cuisine can be a bit complex when it comes to pairing dishes. You might end up with a mix that resembles pancakes and lasagna—both delicious on their own but not a perfect match. If you're new to Sri Lankan food, I'd recommend starting with chicken Kothu and beef Gotha. Lamprais is also wonderful on its own. All the staple dishes are fantastic—hoppers, pol roti, pittu, and string hoppers. Just be sure to have some gravy to go with them! My personal favorites are the fish curry and black chicken.
