There's going to be a wait. And it's totally worth every second of that wait. The staff is all delightful, the atmosphere is light and happy, and the food is exactly what you want and need right now. So go on now! The sooner you get there, the closer you are to getting that food.Food: 5/5

Since moving to DFW over a year ago this is our go to breakfast place! They serve almost everything you can imagine. We have since moved to the other side of Dallas but still come back. The service is always phenomenal and the prices can’t be beat. This is a great place to come with family or friends or just by yourself. The food is consistently good and the portions are large.

First Impressions, good but not great. Exceptional service: walk right in to be seated immediately, fast friendly server, will leave a pitcher craft at table for heavy drinkers. Mediocre food: Order a ribeye, was provided a flat iron instead, cold gravy, homemade salsa lacks the zest watery, hash browns under cooked go with the diced potatoes instead . Large open seating, great for big parties or families. Lacks the small homie vibe of classic diners. Will be back to try: chicken fried steak, waffle, french toast... plan to update review. Paid for our breakfast with a debit card, which included an 18% tip. However when my payment posted was overcharged $5.Called and talked to Susan,who found my receipt record, and confirmed with her that the tip amount on her receipt, was different from my tip amount on my receipt. So someone altered my tip amount. Was told by her if I wanted the difference back I would have to come back to the restaurant to get the difference as it cannot be credited. I will not be driving back for their incompetence, nor will I visit this establishment again.

Affordable large helpings. Decent coffee. Family owned run.Skillet used to be in an old diner on the corner of Bowen Division. Definitely needed upgrades. Service was good, wait staff friendly. Weekends would be PACKED. Like line out the door. Also had an early morning group of people that would be there at 5 am and eat drink coffee for a couple of hours. Kind of place you liked because it was comfortable, but you wished it looked better.Fast forward to their new location up the street. Used to be an Italian restaurant definitely not what Skillet "feels "like. A much bigger restaurant, same menu.They open at 5 and serve comfort food basically.
