"Things took a personal touch when the piano player came over to greet us; he recognized us from a previous visit and offered to play our wedding's first dance song. It was shaping up to be a lovely evening at Smokeys. However, the mood shifted when we received the bill. My husband had ordered a Manhattan made with Angels Envy, a drink he has enjoyed for years at some of the finest steakhouses across the country. To our shock, we discovered that one Manhattan was priced at $31. My glass of wine was $9. We could hardly believe it; I can purchase a bottle of Angels for just $34, and I’ve never paid more than $18 for a drink in the North Woods. We approached the bartender to verify the bill, and he seemed a bit uneasy as he said, “Didn’t the other bartender inform you of the price before she made it?” We replied that she hadn’t. After that, we didn’t want to escalate the situation and spoil the rest of our evening, but unfortunately, it cast a shadow over our dinner. The meal itself was excellent, as it always is, but we left feeling dissatisfied. Had we been informed of the drink's price, we would have chosen something else. We’ve celebrated our anniversary at Smokeys for the past few years, and we’ve always received a complimentary dessert in recognition of our special day—but this time, no dessert was offered. I seldom leave reviews, but I had hoped the bartender would address the bill issue since the other bartender failed to inform us of the high price of Angels. We’re more than willing to pay reasonable prices as long as we know what to expect. We didn’t want to drive 45 minutes for such an experience. Overall, I would rate the food at 4, the service at 4, and the atmosphere at 4."

A wonderful supper club. Very traditional from the Old Fashions to the appetizer tray and very strong menu. The desserts were great. A good place for couples and families. A real find in the North Woods. Kid-friendliness: Excellent with children.

Great night all around. Lori our waitress was fantastic as she's been on past visits. I'd have to think long and hard to recall when we've had a waitress with such positive spirit. The food was excellent as usual. Looking forward to returning soon.

While visiting the Northwoods, we were fortunate to pick Smokey's as one of our dining destinations. In a nutshell, great ambiance, hospitality, and food. We could not have been more pleased. My wife and I, along with another couple, stopped by just to see if we could get a table last minute on a Saturday night and lucky for us they had a cancelation. The food, staff and ambiance was incredible. This was one of the best dinning experience my wife and I have had in quite a while. Kelsi was our server and I wish I could clone her and have her as our server at every restaurant we go to. Honestly, Smokies food is worth every penny and the four of us left very fulland making plans to come here again the next time we are in the area.

I loved everything about this place! I had a birthday dinner here and our server— Lori (I think) was incredibly nice and attentive. We began with an appetizer of bacon wrapped scallops and I then had the French onion soup. Prime rib was my entree and it was cooked absolutely perfectly. For drinks I had a gin martini and then a brandy old fashioned with house marinated mushrooms. There was a pianist playing live music around the bar, and all of the guests were happy and the vibe just great. I would come back time and time again.
