"I was visiting Alabama for the first time and asked a friend who used to live in the area where I should eat. He said, Bright Star, try the Fried Snapper Throat, so I did. My first bite of revealed there were bones in it. I was more delicate on my next bite. Excellent food and attentive service by everyone, not just our waiter. I also had a baked potato, slaw and snapper gumbo. All was delicious. It was pricey for me $36 before tip but I 'd go again. Next time I 'll try the steak, it 's apparently award winning."

"So goooood.. I ordered the half slab ribs and 2 sides combo plate. I was surprised at the cost. with a drink it was 18.50. I really wanted the ribs though, so I went with it. I am glad I did. I really only used the BBQ sauce on my fries. the ribs were awesome. they had that nice red smoke line at least a quarter inch into the meat and were nice and juicy. big ribs too. the green beans were good. the fries. nice n crispy. perfectly seasoned. other then the price. this meal was excellent. after leaving. the price seemed to not sting as bad either. I felt the worth in the belly."

"After looking at its health department rating, we decided to try this place for lunch during the week (The health department rating was 90 at the time of our visit. If the rating was low, I doubt that we would even consider eating at this unfamiliar place. . The restaurant is small but clean, with several tables for indoor seating. The back half of the building contains the kitchen. There 's a drive-through lane around the back of the building. We walked inside the restaurant and ordered (and paid for our food at a doorway between the kitchen and dining area. Within minutes, the food was ready for pickup. One person in our group had the 1/2 BBQ Chicken plate. It was all white meat that was fall off the bone tender. I had the hot dog combo. The portions for the sides are bigger than I expected for the price. The menu prices are slightly below average and drink refills are free. The staff is fast and genuinely friendly. I would recommend this place for lunch."

"It was a couple times. I always love it, but the woman doesn't. (She is from Illinois) Fried Grouper fantastic as fried green tomatoes. Everything I ordered was great. Wife doesn't like pasta Friday they were potatoes baked from potatoes. Friends were not edible. Their fried shrimps were very good. You have many pages to choose, just not potatoes. As far as Bessemer's decisions go, it's worth a try. If you go on Friday or Saturday night you will wait 30 minutes. Two words: Grouper Tomatoes!"

"Saw this place had good reviews and wanted to see for myself. Happy I did. Got a pork chop, Mac and cheese, yams and cornbread to go. When I got home I took one bite of each and did a little dance. Damn everything was good. Will go back again and highly recommend this restaurant. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $10–20"
