"We were first brought some delicious sautéed green peppers and warm bread. However, we had to request silverware and napkins, as there were none on our table. As for the food, the beet salad was quite good, but the fried calamari was too chewy. The broccoli rabe was excellent, though the Brussels sprouts were well-cooked but had too much balsamic glaze for my taste. The biggest letdown was my 14 oz Angus New York strip steak, which was so tough that I struggled to enjoy it; I only managed to eat half. "I would have given stars but there was a glitch in the service. My platter was brought and my husband had to wait another minutes for his food. His order was a salad and there should have been no reason for him sitting there and having to watch me eat. He had noticed that our server was busy chatting away with another table and did not even check on our table. My husband had to say something as Tomatoes is a classy establishment and both orders should have been brought together or an explanation given to us as to why the delay on his meal"

"This place is outstanding, make sure you go there! My wife and I both got a seafood special which was a lobster tail, crab, scallops, and shrimp. The portions were huge and cooked to perfection. Our friends all got something different and they loved what they had. Service was perfect and at the end so was dessert! Reservations are a must."

After returning home, we realized that they gave us 2x the wrong orders and released several items from our order. If you order from here, check your bag twice! However, they have a large selection of bagels, so a positive one. A large order for the family ordered. It rushed to order, and the price was on the high side. Once our order was finished, they were uncertain about what was in there, so they checked again and gave us the right bag. "Even though we have a beach house just a few blocks away, this was our first visit to Velo Café. The service was outstanding, and the atmosphere was delightful. We chose to dine indoors due to the windy weather that evening, but the outdoor seating looked inviting as well. I ordered the seafood pappardelle with blush sauce from the specials menu, while my husband opted for the salmon. Both dishes were incredibly tasty. For dessert, we shared the chocolate bomb topped with strawberries and ice cream, which was delicious. We plan to come back to try their breakfast, which we've heard is also fantastic."
