"This is a hidden gem that is poorly managed. They say they are open Friday until 3pm for takeout only but after multiple calls no one has answered the phone. Their google hours are not correct and they have also gone to a very limited menu. I was told by a waitress on a previous visit that they had been opened since February but didn’t announce it.Response to owner: where did you leave information or a notice that you were closed because of AC? There is no answering machine or social media for your restaurant."

"We had a wonderful experience at this restaurant! The service was friendly, and the atmosphere created the perfect setting for a birthday dinner. Although the food was somewhat pricey, it was mostly worth it. The portions were not large, but the quality and flavor were outstanding. My husband really enjoyed his lobster ravioli, even though there weren’t many on his plate, and I thought my entrée was quite good too. I can’t remember exactly what I ordered, as it wasn’t on today’s menu (we dined on Wednesday, November 8, 2023). We left feeling a little hungry, but I believe if we had ordered an appetizer, an entrée, and dessert, we would have been content. The only letdown was that, since it was my birthday, we were told I would receive a cake, but it never arrived. We didn’t feel comfortable asking for it, so we just let it pass. Overall, it was a positive experience! Parking was convenient, with a lot next to the restaurant and street parking available. The service was prompt and attentive. I would recommend this restaurant for a special occasion dinner."

"Never have I ever spent over $1,000 at a place that treated me with such disrespect and distaste. If I could give this place zero stars, then I would. What started out as a beautiful night with Senior Staff at Livingstone College surprising my father for his birthday (we made reservations two weeks in advance) quickly turned out to be a nightmare. We ordered several appetizers, steak, ribeye, prime rib, lobster— just to name a few. We barely were able to enjoy our dessert after feeling rushed. It didn’t stop there, unfortunately. “Somehow” the lights were “accidentally” cut off while we were sitting in there. The owner claims a customer turned off the lights and he immediately turned them on. I can confirm that was one of many lies. As an Attorney, I noticed this was an immediate liability. If someone slipped and fell in the dark, I can guarantee this would be a different claim. However, it was interesting to me that the lights in the bar area where other patrons were seated at the bar having drinks remained on in the next room over. The owner claimed we stayed at the restaurant “well past an hour after closing” despite no one saying anything— even when we booked the reservation. I guess there’s no reason to say anything when your actions can be worth 1000 words. However, we began to get up IN THE DARK and head towards the front door. The lights did not come back on while we were inside the building. I know this because the owner— who never identified himself nor apologized, brought the card outside because we left it due to the darkness. After hearing one of the senior staff members called the owner today expressing her dissatisfaction, I was informed the owner hung up on her. In my attempt to express my dissatisfaction with the owner, he continued to gaslight me and tell me I was threatening him and harassing him with phone calls. He failed to acknowledge the situation and apologize. Instead, he immediately became defensive and said “what else do y’all want me to do?” I told him this was unacceptable, and he proceeded to tell me that calling him was unacceptable. I am disgusted by the service at this restaurant and the lack of accountability following the incident. I promised him as long as there is breath in my body I will never eat here. There are plenty of other steakhouses and places that will gladly allow you to spend $1,000+ and allow people to feel WELCOME. I wonder whether the story would be different if other College Presidents similarly situated and their families would be treated the same way. I don’t have to worry about my treatment or my loved ones treatment here because I can promise we will never return."

"This restaurant is like a fantastic concert that just keeps getting better and better with every dish. We started with the delicious crab cakes with nan bread, followed by the thick boneless ribeye with blueberry and Merlot sauce - absolutely delicious and cooked perfectly. The presentation was excellent, and it came with grilled green beans that were fabulous. My wife had the ribeye steak sandwich, which was also incredibly flavorful and spicy. The highlight of the meal was the apfelstreudel with vanilla bean ice cream - a perfect combination of light pastry, cinnamon, and apple. However, the star of the night was the Bourbon-Pecan Pie. The service was impeccable, with a great atmosphere and background music. The restaurant truly lives up to its excellent reviews."

"Headed to visit a relative and decided to go a different route and saw this place and filed it away to look it up. Glad I did. The online reviews were good so I decided to test drive next time I was near. They fill their Long Johns as you order and I read they will fill as much as you want. I went white cream and asked for the max. It was definitely max filling and it was really good. I think I might prefer the white cream Red Donut in Lexington just a tad. The apple fritter is absolutely fantastic; its different. More done than other fritters but still top notch. The sour cream bar was just mindblowingly good. Once again just a little more done than some might prefer but to me this donut was up there with any I have ever had. The cake donuts are very light. Service was fantastic, quick and the lady (owner was quite patient. These donuts are huge. Wish I lived closer."
