If you're in the mood for flavorful Taiwanese dishes with porridge, this is the number 1 spot in the bay. I've lost count of how many times I've been here but it's always delicious! The portions are very well worth the price too. It's not expensive and it tastes so good!

As soon as you enter you get asked how many (ji wei) and get pointed to a table. Pretty quickly a pot of soupy porridge is delivered to your table with bowls and plates and chopsticks. This is always a busy place for porridge. You get a porridge and you choose what you would like to accompany it. Usually a spicy or texture or salty item and they have a nice selection. I like eggplant, squid, green vegetables and sometimes noodles with the rice. If you have more friends, you can share the different plates for variety.

Great for dine-in and take out. Don't schedule pickup in advance as the restaurant will pack it immediately irrespective of the pickup time and your food will get cold. Just order for ASAP pickup and orders are typically ready in 15min or so.Ordering in person will likely be daunting for a non-Chinese speaker, but you can simply point at the dishes behind the counter.

Cute, budget-friendly restaurant for what I'd consider close to a simple home-cooked meal. This place specializes in a light sweet potato porridge served with your choice of sides.You order at the counter cafeteria-style and there's usually a line so there's some pressure to know what you want and order quickly.Overall I found the food to be good but not so I'd necessarily come back multiple time for. most meat dishes taste the same, strongly of msg. the restaurant's ambiance very chaotic and messy, servers yelling over counter at customers. cashiers are very unpleasant to be around, extremely impatient and rude. was run by several impatient and rude young men, they were extremely exasperated by the simplest of requests and if you did not hand them your cash and get out at the speed of light they would get very impatient and rude.

Nice toppings, lots of variety. Our first time trying the Taiwanese style of porridge and we were initially surprised that the porridge was plain, no flavor. But the toppings were so flavorful. We ordered the pork maw, squid, pork tongue, edamame. Just wish they removed the internal chitin from the squid before cooking.It didn't take long to get used to it and it was pretty filling, good sized portions perfect for 4.I'd go again to try other toppings
