"1 year update: My favorite restaurant, being a Lakewood local. Best joint around, hands down. The owner Vince Chere who will probably greet you are just amazing people. Come here, you won't regret it. Celiac safe too! Chere the one who took my order today and Vince, the owner, are AMAZING. I have Celiac disease so eating out can be hard and frustrating because not only my allergy to gluten but gluten free food that has been cross contaminated with food that does have gluten (shared surfaces, shared deep fryers, pans utensils et cetera) but NOT AT ZEST! Even though they are not a dedicated gluten free restaurant both Chere and Vince went out of their way to tell me what was safe (pretty much everything) and not only what was safe but how they were going to prepare it to make it safe, giving me peace of mind. I got the Pork Chop off the dinner menu and it was AMAZING! Zest is a small cozy place, bar, with great outdoor seating and a nice breakfast setting. Next time I'm trying breakfast and next dinner a GF Pizza. After this amazing first experience I'll be back again and again, probably tomorrow! If you're looking for well priced high quality food, Zest is it. Got celiac disease or on a GF diet? Zest is the best. Support this small business and enjoy some amazing food, service, and conversation. EDIT FOR SECOND MEAL EXPERIENCE Got the Buffalo Slider with truffle fries they used corn starch instead of flour just for my allergy, and fried in a separate pan. Amazing burger, HUGE too. Picture makes the burger look boring and fries look weird (mostly due to the cornstarch) but trust me that is the way it should look because it's the best GF buffalo burger I've ever had."

"This restaurant serves the best Indian food we have ever had. In fact, it may be one of the best meals we have ever had. Even though it is 15-20 minutes further than our usual Indian restaurant, it is worth the extra travel time. My 7-year-old son loved it so much that he wanted to go back to Durbar the next day and said he could eat there constantly. I agree with him!"

"J was very kind and helpful and got us taken care of right before closing. If the lines are busy you have to drive there to order until they get another line installed. Their earned success is causing growing pains.Huge portions, large amounts of meat, incredible flavor, and if you eat like a sane person each meal is enough for 2+ people. The palominos burritos for $15 is enough for 4 people (it's two huge burritos)Meaning that eating here costs about $6 per meal, making it very affordable. We also eat at Chapala before going grocery shopping so we make better decisions.I can't recommend this place enough, and based on how busy they are I know I'm not the only one.Vegetarian options: All for J she'll help you through the vegetarian options on the menuParking: Huge parking lot, it's a strip mall"

"Cafe Jordano is a hidden GEM! I've lived in Lakewood for a couple years and have always driven by it but never thought twice to actually go (it's tucked away in the same strip mall as a Safeway and looks unassuming from the outside but don't judge a book by it's cover After hearing multiple Lakewood locals rave about it, my fiance and I finally decided to give it a shot. We went in on a Saturday night around 8pm (also happened to be my birthday) and we found a great spot at the bar It was lively but not overly crowded which was perfect. The food was incredible (we got mussels in the spicy sauce and lobster ravioli) and the service was wonderful (our bartender that night was Cade and he was attentive and friendly and fun to chat with 12/10 recommend this place and I can't wait to go back and try everything on the menu."

"We went here last night for our first time and were delighted! Food was excellent- great flavors! Service was personable and friendly. We were impressed with their extensive menu and list of vegetarian options. I had Akwaaba Stew vegetarian. My husband had a stew with oxtail, cassava and plantains, and we shared some veggie samosas. We loved our food! And we shared a delicious banana bread with chocolate for dessert. We look forward to returning soon and working our way through the menu, trying new dishes and flavors, and learning more about African cuisine, which we know is quite varied. Africa's a big continent with over 50 countries. We also look forward to checking out the live music on Sat. nights."
