"This is my husband’s and my go-to spot for cocktails and upscale bar food. I say upscale because the food is top notch, especially the sliders, not because it 's expensive. Prices are in line with other places in Alameda. We always get one wagyu and one ahi tuna slider and split them. We 've also gotten the donuts a few times. The drinks are excellent. I 've never been disappointed, and I 'm often pleasantly surprised by how much a drink exceeds my expectations. I think we 're slowly working our way through most of the cocktail menu. We 've discovered some new favorites like the Corpse Reviver #2 and a milk punch they happened to have once. It always feels like there 's something new to try. Extra kudos to Heather. I think she’s the manager. She’s a total pro, friendly, knowledgeable, and always has great suggestions. If given the choice, I’m pretty sure this is my husband’s number one spot on Park Street. Great location too. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"

I love Town Tavern for a date nights! They consistently have well-made cocktails (best in Alameda in my opinion) and delicious food options. Great service as well.

The owner and servers are really friendly and welcoming, and the drinks are fantastic. The atmosphere is lively and energetic, filled with a fun crowd mostly in their 30s to 40s, making it a bit noisy but enjoyable. Voir le carte

For my second cocktail, I ordered the regular-priced Basil Gimlet, which was very intense and a bit too sweet. I didn’t try any food because it looked decent but not extraordinary. The takeaway? Definitely come for happy hour, but be cautious about what you order. P.S. I ended up asking for a glass of ice to help dilute the overwhelming sweetness of my cocktail!

The lychee cocktail was fantastic! It was sweet and a bit risky. The staff members were friendly, and the wait times were reasonable. The Brussels sprouts were decent; however, they became oily and lost their crunch towards the bottom of the bowl, although it was a generous portion. The ahi sliders were delicious, and they offered several vegetarian options as well.

Highly skilled baristas...friendly staff..great Irish coffee nice small plates perfect Happy Hour prices! Personally, I would not rate as children friendly .. Upon entry, nice long bar to the left with all bar stools to the right facing windows over Santa Clara, some sparse table settings in rear but with most bars ....little light..perfect pub environment yet not exactly a great area for kids! My favorite tavern on East end Voir le carte

BEST BURGER EVER! I was on the lookout for a fantastic burger in Alameda, and I found it. The juicy, high-quality ground beef was served on a perfectly grilled bun. The toppings were excellent—cheddar cheese, grilled onions, a layer of fresh tomato, and crunchy lettuce. The fries were decent—nothing overly hot or extraordinary, but still tasty. I would definitely come back just for that burger. Although I didn't sample anything else, the drinks the bartender was preparing for other customers definitely had me intrigued.

I finally had dinner at Town Tavern for the first time tonight, and it was a great experience! We started off with the French Onion Dip and Potato Chips, which we absolutely loved. That was probably one of the best French Onion Dips I've ever tasted—if I could get a small bucket to take home, I definitely would! I ordered the Ahi Sliders, which were very flavorful but a bit messy. My friend had the Tavern Burger and really enjoyed it; it wasn't greasy, and the sautéed onions were a nice addition. Both dishes came with a generous portion of fries. The beer was cold and refreshing, just what we needed. The service was excellent—our server checked on us frequently, which we really appreciated....

"Tasty authentic Vietnamese dishes made in a mom and pop restaurant in Oakland on the corner of East 12th Street and 11th Avenue. We got the Hu Tieu Mi Kho (Dried egg noodles), Pho Dac Biet (Beef Pho with various cuts of beef), and the Bo Kho (beef stew) that comes with a Vietnamese baguette to dip in the stew. These 3 dishes totaled about $45 after taxes. Two of the dishes (dried noodles and the pho) were full of flavor and you can smell and taste some of the traditional spices and herbs that come with them. The Dried egg noodles come with 2 quail eggs, 2 shrimp, a couple slices of pork, slices of pork kidney and liver, minced pork, bits of chicharron (fried pork belly skin), chives, cilantro, green onions, and blanched mung bean sprouts with a bowl of broth on the side. It comes with Vietnamese pickled jalapenos, sate paste, and a soy based sauce to mix in with the noodles. Was very authentic and delicious! There was even minced garlic in the dry noodles, which added another nice layer of flavor to this dish. The second dish, beef stew, although it smelled right, was more of a soup than braised stew. It was watered down (and tasted watered down too) and would have gone better with noodles. Way too watery for the baguette to really dip or scoop up the flavor. Made the bread a soggy mush. Plus there was not that many pieces of beef (they used flank with the membrane intact), and only 2 slices of carrot. We had to scoop to the bottom of the container to raise the beef, above the broth for the photo. Otherwise we almost mistook it for the container of broth for the pho. I would pass on getting the beef stew next time since the value of what you pay and flavor were somewhat lacking. Lastly we tried the pho dac biet and it was tasty with a nice balanced broth before you add the herbs and condiments (hoisin, sriracha, etc). It comes with the usual mung bean sprouts, thai basil, and sliced jalapenos with the raw slices of beef on top (for you to cook by pouring over the boiling broth). Prices are reasonable for the dry noodles and pho, but not the beef stew. While waiting for our takeout order, the husband owner kindly offered us some water or hot jasmine tea to sip while we waited. Inside of the restaurant, there are 7 tables with seating for 4 each, and a longer table with seating for 8 available for dining here. The parking lot across the street that people used to use seems to be closed/chained as a private lot now, so be prepared to find and park on the main streets or neighborhood around the restaurant. It is in a lesser part of Oakland about 5 minutes away from downtown, so be sure to lock your car or use public transit, as there was a lot of trash dumped around the neighborhood. Despite all of this, I would return for their tasty dry noodles and pho. And would be interested to try their other dishes too (minus the beef stew)."
