"This place closes at 3pm on a Friday. At 1:20p we arrived waitress brought our drinks and put chairs on top of two tables. Customers at next table left and chairs were up. I was already uncomfortable about the chairs being up and wanted to leave..but waitress came and took order. 2 groups of customers came in on got the last table the chairs were not up yet the other got a booth. Its 130p another couple comes in looking confused No waitress insight. I told them that yes they were open and someone was in hurry to clean up. They wanted a table but forced to take a booth. This woman asked about the chairs. Waitress stated she did not want to be there till 5 pm cleaning up salt. Note I looked..floors rather clean other werethe last couple sat at table. Thought was pretty lame excuse. Chairs were up for 20 minutes before waitress decided to sweep which by the wat too her about ten minutes. Waitress made sure you new waffles not available they turned machine off at one. Already changed sign for specials when we came in. They were ready to go. When we came in there were 2 other couples(table& booth) when we left table with 4 and 3 booths. We left close to 2p."

"Review Date: April 4th, 2016 Mehquet’s. The opening line to this post is very ‘meh’ but that’s how I felt about Maquet’s. A few people I know from Pekin raved about Maquet’s. When something pops up on my radar via suggestions or otherwise, I add it to my list and eventually get around to checking it out. On a particular day where my girlfriend and I felt like traveling but not driving 1+ hours to experience something new, Pekin was the perfect place to explore. We ended up only doing a few things and Maquet’s was our second of three stops. After parking in a small parking lot about half a block away, we entered and were greeted with probably the wood-iest bar I’ve ever been in. Top to bottom and wall to wall wood. It was well-worn wood so it had that worn in look that makes a place look snazzier rather than aged and old. In my opinion, at least. We snagged some seats at the bar and our bartender took our drink order while getting us menus. As we waited for our food, I couldn’t stop staring at the giant fridge of beers behind the bar. There were a million different beers to pick from that even the pickiest beer drinker wouldn’t have issues finding something to drink. After the beer fridge, my eyes wandered to the rest of the bar. The aesthetics of Maquet’s was perfect. It had that coziness of a coffeehouse with a mix of drunken debauchery hidden in the walls, waiting for the fun of the night to get here. There was a big dining area behind us but since we were at the bar, we didn’t go wandering. While my eyes were taking in the scene, my girlfriend’s eyes were on the food that was placed in front of us. I swiveled around and was shocked at the glorious meal placed in front of me. Now that’s what food should look like when served (see below for what I ate). We both got the Rail House Burger as we both love the kick of BBQ. Sadly, the looks were better than the bites. Yes, sadly, the food wasn’t all that great. For having bbq sauce, pepperjack cheese, haystack onions and other condiments, the burger lacked some pizzazz. So many potential ingredients for flavor and none of them worked. My shy girlfriend felt the same. All show and no wow. The french fries were decent though its hard to mess up those up. With all the praise that I heard about Maquet’s, its such a shame that it turned out to be meh. As always, I am willing to give a place a second try. I feel like maybe we just had an off day as there is no way that burger should’ve been as plain tasting as it was."

"My daughter lives the pork pancakes. I enjoyed the chicken noodles. I think portion wise noodles could have more chunks of chicken, others then that it is really good. My wife had chickens, potatoes and green beans. She said it was good. If you are a sweet tea drinker, I think Bob Evans has fantastic sweet tea! Our waitress was very nice, fast and fast service. Bill with tip was under $30."

"I went to this restaurant with a group of friends after not visiting for some time. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. The chefs seemed indifferent and the prices were high for the average quality of the food. To make matters worse, all of us ended up getting food poisoning. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone in Pekin or the surrounding area."

"I recently had lunch at this restaurant, and I have to say, my experience was quite disappointing. My friend Hollie accidentally left her phone on the table, so we returned to ask if anyone had seen it. Gabby, one of the staff members, insisted that she hadn’t found a phone. However, when we came back an hour later, the phone was miraculously there. It was frustrating to see that the district manager, Mike Kessinger, seemed to back this misinformation as well. I won’t be coming back to this restaurant. Despite having given Gabby a $5 tip during our visit, this experience has changed my mind. She came across as quite arrogant, and I don't think she is suited for a customer-facing role. I would appreciate it if someone from corporate could contact me. Thank you."
