"While the food was slightly on the burnt side and generally a bit too salty, it was still manageable. I appreciated the extensive menu, which featured a variety of options beyond just yakitori, allowing us to try a few different dishes. I definitely recommend the hotate bacon, which is bacon-wrapped scallops and was the most flavorful item we tried. My brother and mom particularly loved the broiled mackerel (definitely a good choice if you like fish). The Yaki Nasu, which is broiled eggplant topped with bonito flakes, was surprisingly effective as a palate cleanser, cutting through the salty flavors, even if it sounded and tasted a bit bland. (My brother says it’s great with soy sauce.) However, I would suggest avoiding anything chicken, as the meat was quite dry (though the scallions were juicy). Also, pass on the Ika no maruyaki (grilled whole squid) and the Tan nira; the beef tongue was just a bit too salty and spicy for my liking."

Food wasn’t good at all. Ramen was poor quality and Gyu don portion was small. Yakitori was very expensive for each skewer. Overall very unauthentic Japanese food and slightly more expensive than other izakayas in the city. Voir le carte

One of my first suggestions whenever friends come to town. Great izakaya experience and vibe with a friendly and accommodating staff.Food is delicious with a lot of variety and pairs great with their selection of beer and sake.

Small teeny shareable yakitori sticks, pretty much from the grill to your table depending where you get situated- we got lucky. Awesome eel unadon, fried squid legs and wasabi tako. The yakitori was ok but Tiny. One other issue w this spot is that it 's so popular that all of the waiters will gently shoo you out by asking are you done with this or that, some 8 times over. So it 's not really a place to lounge but really for eating n gtfo.

The restaurant offers a cozy and relaxed atmosphere, complemented by friendly staff. The servers are attentive and well-informed about the menu options. Most dishes are served promptly, and the prices are reasonable considering the portion sizes and quality of the food. There's a nice variety of sweet beverages, sake, and shochu available. Additionally, the late opening hours make it a great spot for any kind of gathering. On average, a person can expect to spend between $20 and $40. Voir le carte

I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The menu is quite extensive, offering a wide range of options at unbeatable prices, so there's truly something for everyone. We ordered yakitori, buttered mushrooms, sesame spinach, udon, and two drinks, and I enjoyed every dish. Everything was delicious, the prices were reasonable, and even the drinks were impressive. The servings range from small plates to bowls, noodles, and soups, making them easy to share. This place was a fantastic find, and I would definitely return!

Located in the vibrant neighborhood of the East Village in Manhattan, where numerous Japanese restaurants can be found, this establishment was recommended by a Japanese friend. Prior to entering, we waited in line for a few minutes at the door, but it was well worth the wait. The menu was extensive, although it lacked raw fish dishes that are typically popular in Japanese cuisine. Our friend ordered a variety of dishes for the group to share, allowing us to sample a wide range of flavors. Everything we tried was delicious, starting with a bowl of edamame beans that we had to peel to reach the tasty interior. We also enjoyed grilled fish, rice balls, and a Japanese specialty similar to a savo...

"We went to Bread N Wine on a early Saturday afternoon for brunch. We were greeted and seated by the servers who were attentive. The food was okay the bread was really soft and fresh. My partner got the French Lentil Soup, Spinach and Tomato Egg Bake andI got the French onion soup, egg omelette with spicy tomato avocado and onions. I wasn 't happy with my omelette because thespicy just meant it was covered in hot sauce within. For beverages, we got chai lattes (we later found out it wasn 't tea basedbut rather coffee) and we had the option of oat milk, almond milk or regular milk. In terms of our overall experience we feltby the end too many things were steering the experience south; the worst was when we were accused of using counterfeit money topay for the tip. There was no special marker used to prove that the money was counterfeit or technology to back up this claim. That experience alone left a bad taste in our mouth as we left embarrassed by that claim, kind of shook from that, we stilladded the tip to our credit card 18%. As we walked out and talked about how weird that was, the owner of the business nextdoor overheard us and asked to see the $20 bill he showed us that our money was real and validated what we knew, that themoney wasn 't counterfeit. When we went back into Bread N Wine to discuss this there was no apology, just well, it felt thatway , shrug. It left a terrible feeling. We would not go back after that, this is not how you treat customers from start tofinish, hence the 2 star review."
