"Located in Virginia, Wilkes BBQ is known as the best barbecue spot in the area, favored by locals for over fifty years. While some consider it a hidden gem, others recognize it as the go-to spot for unbeatable BBQ. My personal favorite is the ATW all the way with coleslaw and hot sauce, always paired with a delicious potato salad that my partner and I can't get enough of. Sometimes we venture up north or try other BBQ joints, but we always come back to Wilkes for their unique flavors. Make sure to try their seasonal sides, such as homemade slaws and pies like sweet potato and pecan. Trust me, you don't want to miss out on this amazing dining experience."

Very homey. Simple Southern BBQ, served in a paper bag. They don't sell fries, but all the other staples that go along with BBQ. Coleslaw, baked beans, potato salad, green beans and seasonally collard greens. A few other items such as ribs. Baked Beans top-tier, served in a Styrofoam cup.Food: 5/5 Voir le carte

We have been visiting Wilkes BBQ since they opened. Literally! I used to work in an office in the same building. I have never had a bad meal there. The BBQ is amazing, especially the cole slaw and the brisket. We even purchased 5-pound tubes of BBQ to give as gifts to family members and for parties at work.

some of the best carolina style bbq I've ever had. the potato salad reminds me of the mother and oma. navy bean and bean are delicious. sometimes there's a waiting list for the questions. I have tried almost everything on their menu and I have only one complaint and that is that they are closed on Sundays and montages.

My family and I absolutely adore Wilks BBQ. Their BBQ is the best I've ever tasted, along with their coleslaw. Their baked beans and collard greens are also incredibly delicious. I have ordered from them multiple times for large gatherings and have never been disappointed. Don't judge a book by its cover - Wilks BBQ may just look like a hole in the wall, but the food is truly exceptional. Voir le carte

Do not order the ribs! I thought the BBQ sandwich and beans were a good deal for lunch, so I assumed the ribs would be just as good. However, the ribs were overcooked, likely boiled and then grilled, and way too expensive for only five ribs. They were tough and I ended up giving them to my dog because they were not enjoyable at all. I suggest they stop serving ribs and stick to just chopped BBQ and beans. Keep it simple.

My son and I discovered this restaurant on TripAdvisor. I usually don't enjoy edgy barbecue style, but I really liked the edgy barbecue with cole slaw here. I would definitely return just for that dish. Also, the sweet potato cake was delicious and made from real ingredients, not processed. Overall, it's worth a visit if you find yourself in the area. The atmosphere was fresh and the flavors were well-balanced. The portion size was generous, more than I could finish. This was the best barbecue I've ever had!

"Yesterday, my sisters treated me to Brunch for my birthday at Venture, where I had previously eaten at for lunch and had fond memories of (pre-pandemic). Unfortunately, it's changed, and not necessarily for the better in my view. I remember it as being a farm-to-table gem, where you could find innovative and healthy options as a regular thing. Maybe you still can achieve those but just not at Brunch on a Sunday. I first thought I'd get the Cherries Jubilee French Toast; but upon finding out from our server that the cherries were going to be the consistency of cherry pie filling I searched for something I hoped would be healthy. I picked from the regular Brunch menu the King's Plate because I figured the root vegetable hash would offer some tasty and relatively healthy ingredients. The flavors of the root vegetables were sadly overpowered by the excessive garlic in the heavy sausage gravy. The homemade biscuit was a perfect accompaniment, however. It just would've been nice to have some fresh fruit served with it. There was nothing on the regular or particular Sunday Brunch specials menu to recommend it for a 2nd try. I may give regular lunch another try. Or I may go somewhere I'm more confident of getting a healthy, fresh, reasonably priced meal. The service was great, and as always, I tipped our server of her effort, not my satisfaction with the food. There's great potential at Venture, and I always remembered it as being a great destination restaurant- one you'll drive more than the usual miles to get to- but it needs some work to recreate a more universally enticing menu."
