"Parking is available on the street, but it can be a bit limited. Fortunately, we found a spot just two storefronts away, and the two-hour parking was more than enough for our brunch. The restaurant has a no-frills aesthetic, which we appreciated.
We arrived around 12:30 PM on a Wednesday (they close at 2 PM that day). We were seated immediately, and it didn’t get crowded during our visit. The staff was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Guests can choose to sit at tables or at the counter on lower stools. Behind the counter, there’s a coffee machine, juice machine, and hot chocolate machine, along with the menu and specials displayed in colorful chalk. We were given printed menus when we walked in, and there is a single restroom located towards the back near the kitchen.
We ordered a corn Johnny, coffee cake pancake, a ham/sausage/bacon/cheese omelette, wheat toast, eggs Benedict, and home fries.
I particularly loved the eggs Benedict. It had just the right amount of sauce without overwhelming the dish. The English muffin was thick and perfectly cooked, not too soggy from the sauce and egg. The Canadian bacon was thick-cut and salty, and I was very pleased with it. I’m looking forward to trying their other variations of Benedict.
The home fries were well-cooked, crunchy but not burned, and the wheat toast was thick and satisfying. The omelette was also great—I might skip the cheese next time as it felt slightly overwhelming, but the meats were generously chunky and plentiful. I would definitely order it again.
The corn pancake was quite delicious, combining the best of pancakes and cornbread and topped with whipped butter—it was delightful. This is something I would order again. Just a note about the pancakes: you can order one to three, and they are quite large, so for most people, one is perfect alongside other dishes.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t thrilled with the coffee cake pancake. I expected it to be sweeter, but it was rather lackluster. However, there was nothing wrong with how it was prepared. Once I added the cinnamon sugar topping and some syrup, it improved, but it still didn't compare well to the other dishes. I wouldn’t order it again, but I took it home as a leftover.
We also ordered iced coffee, which is just black coffee with ice in a tall glass; cream comes in small single-serving containers, and sugar is provided in a dispenser on the table. Don't expect anything fancy with this, but I would order it again.
As for dietary options, they offered gluten-free choices as well. The diner is also kid-friendly; families were dining there during our visit."
