"I take my team here every year for our holiday dinner. I made the reservation 2 months in advance. We exchange gifts and so I asked for a table out of the way, and asked for a specific one, but they told me that the particular table I wanted was already reserved. When I arrived, I was brought to a table set up for a large group and I told her I didn’t think this was ours. She went back to the reservation book, came back and brought me to the table that I had originally requested, and I was thrilled. I started putting the presents at each seat. I was then approached by a manager who said “I don’t want you to get too comfortable, this is someone else’s reservation”. She then followed up with “It’s hard to get good help these days”. I found it distasteful for her to insult her hostess who made a simple error. I gather up the presents and was brought to a third table, smack dab in the middle of the restaurant. I didn’t say anything and just decided to make the best of it. I watched for two hours as the table I had asked for, and was told was reserved for another reservation, sat empty. When I sit at my new table, the server comes over, apologizes for the table mix-up and offers a drink. I give my order and it is made incorrectly. She brings another. The server was not attentive to our table at all and we spent a lot of time waiting to order, waiting for our food, waiting for the check. When the food runners came to deliver our sides, they brought sides meant for another table. When they brought our main dishes, they brought the wrong steak. My steak was cooked incorrectly. But, I didn’t want to make a fuss given that the night was supposed to be a celebration so I said nothing. I go to Davio’s regularly bc the service has always been impeccable and the food delicious. This night was hugely disappointing."

"Parking is available on the street, but it can be a bit limited. Fortunately, we found a spot just two storefronts away, and the two-hour parking was more than enough for our brunch. The restaurant has a no-frills aesthetic, which we appreciated. We arrived around 12:30 PM on a Wednesday (they close at 2 PM that day). We were seated immediately, and it didn’t get crowded during our visit. The staff was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Guests can choose to sit at tables or at the counter on lower stools. Behind the counter, there’s a coffee machine, juice machine, and hot chocolate machine, along with the menu and specials displayed in colorful chalk. We were given printed menus when we walked in, and there is a single restroom located towards the back near the kitchen. We ordered a corn Johnny, coffee cake pancake, a ham/sausage/bacon/cheese omelette, wheat toast, eggs Benedict, and home fries. I particularly loved the eggs Benedict. It had just the right amount of sauce without overwhelming the dish. The English muffin was thick and perfectly cooked, not too soggy from the sauce and egg. The Canadian bacon was thick-cut and salty, and I was very pleased with it. I’m looking forward to trying their other variations of Benedict. The home fries were well-cooked, crunchy but not burned, and the wheat toast was thick and satisfying. The omelette was also great—I might skip the cheese next time as it felt slightly overwhelming, but the meats were generously chunky and plentiful. I would definitely order it again. The corn pancake was quite delicious, combining the best of pancakes and cornbread and topped with whipped butter—it was delightful. This is something I would order again. Just a note about the pancakes: you can order one to three, and they are quite large, so for most people, one is perfect alongside other dishes. Unfortunately, I wasn’t thrilled with the coffee cake pancake. I expected it to be sweeter, but it was rather lackluster. However, there was nothing wrong with how it was prepared. Once I added the cinnamon sugar topping and some syrup, it improved, but it still didn't compare well to the other dishes. I wouldn’t order it again, but I took it home as a leftover. We also ordered iced coffee, which is just black coffee with ice in a tall glass; cream comes in small single-serving containers, and sugar is provided in a dispenser on the table. Don't expect anything fancy with this, but I would order it again. As for dietary options, they offered gluten-free choices as well. The diner is also kid-friendly; families were dining there during our visit."
