"we were disappointed for a few reasons. first we were there that celebrated our 30th year, and we let the waiter know, but nothing was done for us, I remember getting a card sent to our table and dessert in the past, we had to buy one. also we order half a dozen, they really liked and ordered 6 more (forthough if he could make it a dozen) he said yes, but on our bill he has accused us for two half dozen, which was more money. Why would he do that? That was delicious."

"Unfortunately, this place has gone downhill as they have changed management in recent years. We used to be regulars and the last couple of times we were there was no good eating. the chicken parm tasted like a frozen chicken patty that was heated. the artichokes were so salty that I could not eat them, and the melone in the burrata and melon salad was so hard and not ripe at all. the waiter was great, but eating was very good. sadly, our once must go to place, make some changes so that we can come back."

"4 single ladies decided to try this during Restaurant Week. Menu selection appealed to me. Asked for separate checks and was told they would do just 3. Why? Everyone liked their food no complaint there. Service a little slow. The scent they pump in at first was pleasant but halfway thru I'm tasting it. When we went to pay, we gave her 3 credit cards and cash for the 4th. They would take only 3 payments, so one of us had to pay another. Cash counted as a payment. Don't understand this rule."

"First of all, you had me at Pie Shoppe. I love this place. We saw the sign in passing, while heading to the freeway and promised ourselves that we 'd be back. The next morning we stopped in for breakfast. And oh, what a breakfast. While most places offer a choice of toast, muffins or biscuits...the coveted Village Kitchen Pie Shoppe offers (are you sitting down? freshly baked, hot, buttered Cinnamon Rolls, as a choice for breakfast breads. Excuse me, while a break into my Happy Dance! Oooh yeah...it 's that good! The rest of the breakfast was great also. And Josie, our server was fantastic! Her cheerful personality was just as delightful as the freshly baked, hot, buttered Cinnamon Roll. So of course, we returned for lunch and had to try a slice of pie...or five. What? Pie is in the name. There are few better ways to start (or finish your day than the Village Kitchen Pie Shoppe. Oh, and did I mention?...they have freshly baked, hot, buttered Cinnamon Rolls."

"This was a 1st try here I was attracted by the menu. On arrival, we found a sign saying VALET FULL , i.e., there is nowhere to park. This forced us to drive around and around to find street parking. So we didn 't get off on the right foot there. We had a reservation, and they have a beautiful, warm dining room, but they sat us outside on an oversized table surrounded by plastic tarps ... hmm (a different experience obviously). The cocktails were great. They gnocchi was great, though it would have been better w/o the truffle. Bill 's filet mignon was fair. I had the ciopinno but didn 't eat much of it they had a very appealing looking giant prawn, but it was so overcooked it was inedibly chewy. The calimari was hit and miss some soft, some chewy. But the broth was watery and lacking in flavor. Since this was their signature dish, I wasn 't thrilled. ... maybe they gave the good ciopinno to the people who got to park there and sit in the dining room."

"I booked a table and was pleased with where I was seated. Carol was our waitress and provided great service. She was friendly and professional. My Fish Chips was great. The only minus was there were only 3 pieces. I liked the warm bread and appetizer. Overall it was a very positive experience. I recommend Bluewater Grill to anyone looking for casual relaxing dinner with friends or family."

"Wonderful place to visit for dinner and history. The museum is small, but laid out nicely. The history of the building is very interesting and they leverage this well. The food was very good! Our party tried numerous dishes. The Lobster roll, Pizza, and fries were the stars. They were also able to accommodate Gluten and Dairy allergies will relative ease."

"When for lunch. Overall, it was a good experience with a few minor issues. For example, one item on my plate was supposed to be hot it was room temp (at best). Also, my biggest issue with 98% of restaurants applies here is that the music is too loud, not appropriate for the venue or both. A very subjective comment, I know, but I know what I like.... It is not an inexpensive restaurant, but seafood is expensive. I'd be willing to give them another try before making a final decision."

"Wow what a disappointment! As a Texas resident and huge fan from the one time we visited the Dallas restaurant I was excited to find a location in Carlsbad and introduce my family to the wonders of Texas de Brazil. Sadly it started poorly when the hostess refused to seat the 6 of us even after I told her my sister and nephew would be joining us in about 30 minutes. After contemplating a venue change she got her manager’s approval to accommodate us. So we sat and our waiter introduced himself and we asked for water. And then he disappeared for a while, brought us water, then disappeared. After about 15-20 minutes of sitting there I got up and went looking for him to ask if anyone was going to help us and when do we get food. He apologized and said he thought we had been there before because he spoke to my 13 year old autistic son who all are toy told him we had? So I was informed we just needed to go grab plates from the salad bar are to get started. Good to know after sitting around for 20 minutes. Then once we sat there for another 10 minutes the first offering of meat came out. Finally! Only it was well done and not the best intro to what I believe is good quality meat. We would finish our meat and be waiting for a good several to 5 minutes before another offering. It seemed much slower than what I remembered from a previous experience. Once every 5-7 minutes? We definitely were not overwhelmed with food and pretty much ate the entire time. My son and I never turned over our green token and yet got skipped on a couple occasions. Seems like green/red tokens didn’t really matter. We arrived at 7:15 but my 9:30 I had to ask our waiter to bring the check because we had a movie at 10. I asked him how dessert works because I saw other servers going around with a big plate. He just pointed the dessert bar behind me and listed all the desserts and offered to make it to-go. So I ordered one but was surprised to find a charge on my bill! That was never explained to me!"

Our family has spent hard earned money there for quite some time, Scott or Steve, When he was ready only then did he decide we were customers. 4 different people waiting. Terrible service, this is not how employees are trained. Not the first time. Bad management. My husband and I are spending our money else where."

"The staff was very patient while I was deciding on my order, and everything truly tasted freshly made. They offer great options for lemonade and teas compared to other fast-casual restaurants. My only complaint is that the staff didn't manage a group of 6-year-olds who kept climbing over the counter. They were pretending to have fistfights and hugging each other right in the payment area, with no adult supervision around to keep them in line. The staff seemed to allow it to happen, which was a bit disruptive."

"What a DISASTER ! Just read the recent reviews below, SAME tonight. Arrive 7:55pm, no host in sight, dining room 95% empty, maybe 2-3 tables taken, outdoor patio with a few more. No staff to front door x 1 min then comes Table Busser hardly any English even, he is now the host ? Asks where we want to sit, unaware of OT Resy with request, he confused gets woman server, she sees our Resy seats us as Resy requests, booth-chair. Eventually the removed cold as heck Server “Bob” comes over. Brings wrong non French Napa bubbly, yes almost 2 x the and says ours out no others around. Says their wine list food menu “disappearing” as owner/host Scott now gone (retired” at home) “trying to selling.” Omg…now it all makes sense. Eventually comes weak Beet Salad with no seasoning Scallops also no seasoning. Later comes my near raw seared lamb, not medium-well, likely rare. My wife’s short rib was excellent. Yes, brownie with 1 scoop vanilla icecream 23.50 or 2-3 x what it should. And yes, the 105. bubbly, not my wanted other 55. better rated bottle charged full price…not cool. Paon will soon be gone, now us. Soooo sad, just read the other reviews for SAME comments."

"We’ve been dining here for 15+ years, which says it all really! We have very fond memories of before it expanded, we always aim to get one of our old tables. Our favorites: Garlic Edamame, Seared Tuna Nigiri, Toro Nigiri, a few other nigiri, Honey Roll, Redline Roll (but we ask them to omit the cream cheese , DESSERT: TEMPURA ICE CREAM!!! Parking: It can be difficult to find a parking spot at peak times, since the closest spots are all green-curbed 30 minute spots (or something like that . But I can’t remember ever being unable to find a parking spot at all. Kid-friendliness: They’re very kid-friendly, they have cheater chopsticks for little hands, Tempura Ice Cream for dessert is a MUST : They’ve watched our kid grow from kindergarten-aged to now being in college!"

I ordered a two piece, and let me tell you, those bad boys were so perfectly crispy I could've sworn they'd done a stint at the Iron Chef School for Fried Goodness. Zero sog. The batter was light, the fish was meaty. Pure culinary wizardry.Then we get to the chips. Can we just have a moment of silence for the crispy majesty that these taters embody? They could put the most tenacious newspaper to shame with their crispiness.But let's cut to the chase the unsung hero in this seafood saga? The caper sauce. Usually, I'm a double dipper, one foot in the malt vinegar, the other in the tartar sauce. But this caper sauce, it's got me reconsidering my life choices. No need for malt vinegar when you've got this semi green goddess at your side.Also, their draft selection? I mean, if the food is like an award winning movie, the beer is the soundtrack that ties it all together. Don't skip it.So, will I be back? Is a fish wet? Heck yeah, I will be! "This is an incredible brunch spot, everything we ordered was so delicious! They have a big menu and there's something for everyone. We came here at 12:30 on a Wednesday for a party of 5 and we got seated immediately. Our waiter was really nice and broke down each section on the menu and told us what he liked the best. I ordered the steak frites , medium rare. The fries were so crispy and they gave me so many! I love shoestring fries, it went perfectly with the steak. I got my steak medium rare and it was way too rare. It was deep red on the inside and so chewy cause of how raw it was. I usually don't mind rare steak but this was way too rare. I asked for it to be cooked more and they took it back and it was cooked perfectly. The sauce it came with was also a great pairing. Our table split the pancakes. They were so good!! My sister loved the risotto Benedict. Service was really good!! I would 100% come here again, I wish I lived closer!! It was so good and worth trying!"

"I guess I caught them on a bad day. Usually food and service is excellent but today was a big disappointment. I bought a French toast breakfast and asked for an extra slice of sausage. No extra sausage was included. When I said NO potatoes. That meant for the whole order but apparently I should have been specific on my burrito. I ordered a sausage , egg and cheese extra cheese) burrito. I got a potato burrito large chunks of potato filled my burrito, a little sausage , NO egg whatsoever and very little cheese. Ate the sausage out of it and threw the rest away. I know they can do better so won't give up with one bad order. I do deserve a refund for sure on the burrito."

"Got the VG Classic Burger, Katsu sliders, Mac and cheese, kids meal (burger), with sweet potato fries, and strawberry lemonade. I recommend it all! Especially the Katsu sliders though, those are unreal. I also love the chipotle ranch, it's to die for. The burgers are so good. The only thing I'd criticize is maybe the Mac and cheese, they have great consistency but the taste is not quite there. I hear it really elevates it if you dump the chipotle ranch in it and mix."

"150 yards walking distance from the valet to the front door of Bob's. Valet was unable to leave desk to cart us to the front door upon arrival at 5:45pm. upon exit we were able to pass message to get a cart brom Bob's back to valet. Sean was an excellent waiter. All staff were very pleasant. Despite notice with reservation that it was a birthday celebration, no one told the waiter, until I told him at the end of dinner. He comp'd the birthday treat. Thank you. All of my guests courteously said the food was excellent. I was not entirely impressed, deserves feedback at this price point. i thought the crabcakes and sauce were good, just too little crab for an entree. I tasted the salmon. was cooked to perfection. I was not impressed with the potato option i chose, the sliced Yukon option with onions and peppercorns. More like shoe leather. Would have preferred scalloped potatoes with gruyere. The warm bread was excellent. Two buns and one butter pad for four people? The key lime pie was right tartness."
