"We experienced very slow service during our visit. We waited about five minutes for the waitress to come take our order, and during that time, we weren’t even offered nachos and salsa to tide us over. We started to time the wait and were considering leaving, especially since other customers who arrived before us were already receiving their meals. Finally, the waitress appeared and took our order. Shortly after, she brought us nachos, salsa, and queso with bean dip. I asked for queso with pico de gallo instead, as I wasn’t a fan of the queso and bean dip combination.
The salsa was extremely spicy—almost too hot to handle. Even after adding five packets of sugar to cut the heat, it was still quite intense. The pico de gallo ended up thinning out the queso, making it more liquid than I preferred, but it did taste good. The iced tea was acceptable but lacked strong flavor. As we waited for our meals, our drinks were running low.
After about seven more minutes, our meals finally arrived. I ordered the Pollo Loco, and the cheese on the chicken was delicious, though a bit on the thin side. It didn’t come with lettuce and sour cream, which was a bit disappointing compared to other Mexican restaurants that typically include them. The rice was decent, having some flavor, but the refried beans were quite bland. My husband ordered the Enchilada Suiza, which he found to be okay; he particularly enjoys his green sauce, and he had unsweetened tea.
Overall, the food was satisfactory and not as salty as some reviews had suggested. However, we were charged extra for the additional queso and pico de gallo, so next time we’ll be sure to ask for the pico de gallo upfront in hopes of avoiding the extra charge.
