Cousteau's Waffle and Milkshake Bar

Cousteau's Waffle and Milkshake Bar

15 Hypolita Street Saint augustine , FL 32084, Saint Augustine, United States

Vegan • Casual • Waffles • Ice Cream

"I come in often to get milkshakes with my daughter who is 13. We came in today and there was no one in view. Young Kitchen guy appears, doesn't acknowledge us. A minute or so later a young gal appears from somewhere and casually says “what can I get you”… like I’m interrupting her scrolling time in the back or something. My daughter orders her fav, simple vanilla with Nutella. She’s been ordering it for years. Besides the point- we are at a milkshake shop where milkshakes and waffles pay for the staff. The girl walks to the back and there is a open kitchen window we can both see the employees through, the gal proceeds to say the order and the young male with a sigh of laziness says “boring” and they both laugh. Over all it’s not a big deal to an adult, which I run multiple businesses and have also worked every restaurant position front and back of house for 15 years+ as well as owned my own establishment….. but to my daughter it was a big deal and made her feel bad… really bad to where she wasn’t even comfortable to wait inside with me for the milkshake. 10/10 milkshakes But the staff??? You guys missed the bar today… If you don’t want to be there… go find another job. There are plenty of opportunities for the thrill your looking for. But when you work at a milkshake establishment, your job is to make whatever milkshake is ordered and paid for, boring or not….keep the crappy attitude and mumbles of disdain to yourself."

"You might miss Pizzalley's amongst all the touristy spots in downtown St. Augustine if you're not looking hard enough, but you definitely don't want to miss this back alley Italian Restaurant! My wife and I tried the Chianti room and we were not disappointed. We were seated straight away and the waitress was polite and prompt. My wife ordered the Chianti and I had a Key Lime Pie Martini, both of which were great. We started with the bruschetta which was delicious, but my wife and I were torn on whether or not the fresh mozzarella brought anything to dish (I enjoyed it, she could have done without it) but the bread was light and crispy and the tomatoes were juicy. With the entrees came our soup, salad, and bread sticks which came out well before the meal. The bread sticks were good with the light sprinkle of cheese on the top. The salad was good as was the Soup de Jour which was an Italian Wedding soup. Before the entrees we also ordered a margarita pizza. If you are used to a traditional margarita pizza (with San Marzano tomato sauce), you may not like this one, but we enjoyed it! It doesn't come with the sauce (as indicated on the menu and by the waitress before we ordered it) but the tomato was fresh and juicy, there was so much cheese, and the crust was perfectly crispy. Delicious! Then the entrees came out. My wife had the Catch of the Day Special which was fried grouper. The portion size was massive! Great flavor and beautifully crusted! I ordered the fettuccine Alfredo with spinach and absolutely loved it. I had nothing to complain. The sauce was flavorful and stuck to the noodles without being too gloopy or clumpy and the spinach added a nice flavor too. We were too stuffed for dessert, but if they're anything like the meal we had, we'll be back to try them soon!"
