"If you're planning to visit during the week, Wednesday evenings are particularly enjoyable due to the sailboat races at Solomons Island. You can watch the racers head out from Zahnheiser’s Marina and return a few hours later. The menu seemed smaller than I remembered, but there were still enough appealing options. They even offer a ramen dish, which seems to reflect the current trend towards Asian fusion cuisine. We ordered the tenderloin steak and the shrimp polenta cakes, starting with the amaretto shrimp appetizer. It was just okay; the shrimp lacked flavor, suggesting they hadn’t been marinated for long. The amaretto sauce was somewhat thin and didn’t cling well to the shrimp. However, I found the sauce quite tasty when I dipped the complimentary dinner rolls into it. The 6 oz tenderloins can be prepared in various ways. I opted for the pepper-encrusted preparation, and the steak that came out was reminiscent of a steak au poivre—tender, flavorful, and cooked exactly as requested. I chose to have seasonal vegetables as a side, which turned out to be expertly prepared asparagus, along with a small pot of delicious gravy. My wife ordered the shrimp and polenta cakes, which I also tried. They were sizable, but I would call them merely decent. The tomato-based sauce on the dish had a peculiar taste that might have come from too much basil or dill, but she enjoyed it, so I suppose it’s a matter of personal preference. For dessert, we opted for the key lime pie, which was satisfactory. The service throughout the evening was excellent and unobtrusive, which is impressive given the restaurant's small size. The only downside remains the relatively high prices, with entrees typically in the mid-thirties. As always, my rating system consists of three stars for places I'd return to, four stars for those I’d like to frequent regularly, and five stars for places worth going out of my way to visit. I'm pleased to report that the Dry Dock has earned its place back in the three-star range in my system."
