"We had two fantastic meals in one week at this lovely restaurant ten minutes out of Castiglione in the very small town/intersection of Ampio. We stumbled on it by chance and it was one of the nicest restaurants in our 3 months in Italy. This is a family run restaurant but by that I don’t mean just family work there but the owner has people working for him that treat the place like they are part of family. The host made our visits extra special with his passion and easy going manner that made it a pleasure to be there. His staff were excellent, efficient and polite. The food was great. Welcomed with fried ricotta morsels that were delicious and hard to stop eating. The smallish menu is easy to navigate and all delicious. Fried pumpkin flowers and the mixed antipasto to start were great. The rabbit, fried chicken and boar were all excellent. Dessert, we ate pannacotta with caramel that was out of this world decadent. Nice wine selection and overall such a pleasing place to visit. I recommend very highly and would definitely return."
