"During our overnight stay at the Aurora Denali Lodge in Healy, we had the pleasure of dining at this charming cafe twice—once for dinner and once for breakfast. The venue is full of character and has a delightful story to tell. I really appreciated its simplicity, along with the surprising and humorous quotes adorning the walls. Typically bustling in the summer, we were fortunate to have the whole place to ourselves during our winter visit, as we were part of a small tour group. Our dining experience was filled with laughter and joy, thanks to our interactions with the owners and staff, who are wonderfully entertaining. The breakfast menu was exceptional, with generous portions; I especially loved the French toast. There’s something truly special about a family-owned diner where everything is managed, cooked, and served by the owners themselves. It adds a personal touch that makes the experience unforgettable."

"On our way to Fairbanks, we stopped at Rose’s for breakfast, thinking it would be a good choice since the parking lot was filled with pickup trucks. As we entered, we walked past a community announcement board and were quickly seated. The menu was extensive and intriguing, but we focused on breakfast. We ordered two coffees, a Denali omelet, and a meat lover's omelet, both paired with sourdough French toast as our side. All I can say is WOW! The place was bustling with families, couples, and individuals enjoying their meals. I was particularly impressed when a couple walked in to find all the tables full; the waitress kindly asked an older gentleman if he minded sharing his table, and he readily agreed. Smiles all around! It was a delightful experience, and if we find ourselves back in the area, we will definitely return."

"We visited here because it was right down the road from our hotel. When we first saw the menu we thought it seemed a bit pricey but we were wrong! The mozerella sticks were perfect with awesome marinara for dipping. My husband ordered a burger and he was pleasantly surprised when they asked how he wanted it cooked. It was done to perfection, obviously hand pressed and a generous portion of fries was included. Best burger he's had in Alaska in his opinion! Our daughter and I ordered the chicken Fettucini and the portions were huge and so delicious we didn't want to stop eating but had to because we were stuffed. We had enough left over for her to eat it again the next night and to feed all three of us the night after that. And it was just as delicious reheated. We will absolutely eat here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area."

"An oasis. That word probably gets used a lot when your traveling and run up on a restaurant or drink place out in the middle of nowhere. But in the case of the Alaskan Coffee Bean it truly was an island of positive vibes in the middle of a dark stretch of nothingness on our trip. We had left Fairbanks Fairly early in the morn. We had been driving for hours and even though I started the day with a healthy dose of energy I was starting to fade. Not a good thing on icy roads. Then out of the dark a colorful building appeared in the distance like a star in he night. we pulled in. My gal was half asleep and asked what's up. I explained it was time to stretch the legs and get some coffee. And also see what was inside the colorful place! there was a couple people drinking coffee inside and a nice lady at the counter. we grabbed a couple coffees to go and used heir facilities too. It wasn't a long stop, but it was nice to sip on coffee and look and the small knickknacks they had for sale there. It gave me time to stretch and warm up a little too. Thanks goodness for the Oasis that is the Alaskan Coffee Bean."

"The sweet and sour chicken was outstanding, and while the fried rice wasn't the best Thai fried rice I've ever had, it still surpassed most others I've tasted. They were out of fresh rolls, but the fried spring rolls were possibly the best I’ve ever eaten. As for customer service, it was a bit hit or miss. I drove from our hotel to pick up the food, only to find out after returning that they had forgotten the sweet and sour chicken. They apologized, and when I went back, they promptly handed it to me. However, I wasn’t too impressed since I had complimented the owner directly on being a fan, and she reiterated my order. I even left a generous tip. I expected them to double-check my order when they handed it to me. Despite the mix-up with my order, I still believe this place serves some of the best Thai food I’ve had—and I've been to Thailand. I will travel from Talkeetna to Kenai to Denali just to enjoy their food. If you're in the area when they are open, definitely try anything on the menu. You won't regret it. Just be sure to specify if you want your dish spicy, as they don’t add any spice unless requested."
