"Located in a strip mall with ample free parking, Antica Trattoria 's decor has a cozy, authentic Italian feel with different textures and al fresco style paintings on the walls. There is some limited outdoor seating looks like seating left over from Covid days in the parking lot). The music was a little loud and non fitting, but the atmosphere was vibrant. The food was good and portions were generous. I always judge a restaurant by its bread and this restaurant had excellent bread! Very fresh and doughy I could have eaten the whole basket! The freshly made generous portion of tiramisu for dessert was also excellent. $13, May 2023) Service was swift and committed a few 'faux pas ' in my book. First, they removed my plate before my dining partner was finished and then the waiter verbally announced the list of desserts as said dining partner was still finishing eating their entree. We could only remember half of the desserts a paper dessert menu would have been appreciated). About 2 seconds after dessert was delivered, the bill was placed on the table without asking if we wanted coffee or anything else. I understand we had a 90 minute window in which to dine as is common nowadays in the USA), but we were well within that window. We would have appreciated not feeling rushed, particularly since it was Mother 's Day, a special occasion. That and slightly high prices were why I took off a star."

We have been dining here for years and every meal has been excellent. They have a great selection of wines and cocktails, authentic Italian food that never disappoints and yummy desserts of course. Service is always impeccable. This is for sure my favorite Italian place

Another delicious meal! This restaurant is consistently excellent. Everything from the food, drinks, and especially the service, is top notch. As new Italian restaurants pop up in La Mesa, we try them, but we always return to Antica Trattoria that we consider to be the best restaurant in town.

The food at Antica was as tasty as always. Our waiter was extremely friendly and attentive. We had a wonderful meal and evening. We have visited Antica many times and have never been let down. We enjoyed Antica for a recent dinner. The place is popular. The dining room is not real big but it has a pleasant buzz. Lots of families enjoying dinner together. Our server did a good job. She was clearing having a rough night. But that happens. The pasta dishes like the burrata ravioli were all well received, if not a touch expensive at an average price of about $25. We enjoyed our meal and will return.

Good service but honestly very disappointing food for the price. The salad shown in the picture was eleven dollars and honestly the Caesar dressing was overly sweet. Again. 11 dollars for that. 23 dollars for pasta with zero protein. The food tastes fine but is absolutely overpriced. Our table was by the kitchen and I noticed they also just had a bottle of glaze just sitting out in a generic brand bottle. The glaze they charge you excessive amounts for as if it's home made as a wine reduction. The food is fine. The service was great. But it's excessively expensive when it's not food worth being such.
