"after reading the reviews in the ct magazine I had high expectations of an unforgettable evening. while I can't say that everything was unsatisfactory, the meal was missing from the wow factor I had anticipated. their usually limited menu was still limited on the valentine day. all four in our party had previewed the online menu and had already selected our favorites, including appetizers. No one appeared on the Valentines menu. While we expected a solid pricing for wilton, a $5 fee for the exchange of appetizers was quite absurd, and a first for me. the restaurant is small, and two tables sister guests made normal talk difficult. unfortunately a fairly common occurrence in restaurants in these days. it was a long drive from new haven county that I did not plan to take back soon."

I have decided to stop eating in restaurants where the noise level is so loud that I cannot have a conversation with my partner. Open Table calls it energetic. I call it very unpleasant and rude.

everything we ate (party of 4) was good. not great just good and my feeling was that it would have been easy to house. the only great compliment was on the muscles that were very well received. Chicken scarpiello had no sausage and only a few red paprika, not very hot. the atmosphere and the service were wonderful. I guess my expectations for this first visit were high.

We dined as a party of four and found the food to be good, but not exceptional. I felt that the dishes could have easily been prepared at home. The standout dish was the mussels, which received high praise from everyone. However, the Chicken Scarpariello was a bit lacking, as it contained no sausage and just a few mild red peppers, making it less zesty than expected. On a positive note, the atmosphere and service were excellent. I suppose I had high expectations for our first visit.
