Staff told me they are planning to feature entertainment in the near future. I will definitely be back...this is my go to for Asian inspired vegan food. Everything we ordered was delicious!!!

I enjoyed having around 15 different options to choose from, along with some fun drinks and decor that had a lot of character. My spouse, who is not vegetarian, also loved her meal. I especially enjoyed the hot and sour soup! We found ourselves in the South Loop and decided to give this place a try!

Nothing was fresh, lava shrimp broke apart, and the drinks were too sweet. We order the pork belly tacos and beef short ribs and they came suspiciously fast and almost taste like reheated food. They run out of the mac and cheese, we can't substitute the macand cheese for anything and they still charged us full price. I would not recommend this place Visualizza piatti

I was searching for a place to eat in the South Loop area and came across Ao Hawaiian Outpost. They offer a good selection of vegan options, and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. They initially got our takeout order wrong, but they corrected it quickly and even gave us a complimentary dish. The food was delicious! The spicy panang curry was a standout for me, but many of their dishes are definitely worth trying. I highly recommend this restaurant if you're looking for something plant-based in the neighborhood.

I was searching for takeout in the South Loop area when I came across AO Hawaiian Outpost. They offer a good selection of vegan options, and the staff were exceptionally kind and helpful. Although they initially got our takeout order wrong, they quickly corrected it and even offered us a complimentary dish. The food was excellent! I particularly enjoyed the spicy panang curry, but many of their dishes are definitely worth trying again. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for vegetarian-friendly options in the neighborhood.

Last night was our first time at Asian Outpost. We chose this restaurant because of all of the vegan options they were supposed to have. And they do. I counted fifteen on the menu, which is great. That’s why I’m giving them four stars, but the food wasn’t very special. I had the fried eggless rice but it was basically rice with an indistinct sauce and a couple of pieces of veggies and tofu. The noodle soup had the same problem: not many veggies. And the fried spring rolls were too soft, probably fried in not hot enough oil and also here we noticed the lack of substance and taste. My wife is a big fan of this restaurant, but I find it quite underwhelming. The owners are genuinely nice people and have done a commendable job incorporating vegan options into the menu. However, I personally don’t enjoy the food. The vegan dishes seem to be just regular meals made vegan by removing certain ingredients. When they do this, the recipes often end up overly sweet, which I find unappealing. I've attempted to enhance my experience by ordering extra sides, but the main dishes still disappoint. Despite my efforts to like this place—especially since it's conveniently close to my home—I’ve ultimately decided to give up on it. This is an update to my previous review from May 21, 2022.

Service has to be pretty bad for it to impact my rating, but it was. First of all, our drinks didn't come out until way after our food. By that time, I hardly wanted the drink. The alcoholic drink I ordered was pictured in a small rocks glass on the menu, but (finally) came out in a large tiki glass and was much more sweet and fruity than expected. I ordered the gamma vegan sushi roll, and the vegan mee goreng, and specified vegan when ordering both. When the mee goreng came out, I was confused because it had an EGG on it. I was blown away by AO Hawaiian Hideout. Let me start with the service: the waiters were so friendly and quick. Our server apologized for the wait time for the food, but the food came out pretty quickly! They made us feel welcome and gave greatservice with a smile. The food was great! The loco moco was so hearty and delicious. I?m usually pretty skeptical of sushioutside of a Japanese restaurant, but the sushi did not disappoint. While I was not a fan of the choice of noodle for the padThai, the flavor more than made up for it.
