"First, let me say the view and the decor are both lovely. It 's great to sit outside in the summer and look out at the water. The food, for me, ranges from mediocre to good depending on what you order. I 've never had a bad meal here, but really never been wowed either. I do think the quality of the olive oil they serve on the tables for bread dipping is subpar though. The service was neither poor nor terrific for me in the past, BUT last time I was there I was really disappointed. We were greeted by a rather unenthusiastic hostess, who seated us at a table directly in the hot sun on a sweltering summer day. There were only 2 other parties eating outside, so there were plenty of tables for her to choose from. Before we had a chance to get settled and realize it would be horribly uncomfortable, she was gone. We found no staff to ask so, after waiting about 5 minutes, we moved ourselves one table over. When the hostess came back to seat another party we explained the situation and, instead of being apologetic or gracious, she gave us a dirty look and muttered something about the place settings as if we 'd done something horribly egregious!! Meanwhile, the waitress had come over and, without introducing herself (found out from the bill her name is Pamella S. , just asked if we wanted plain or bubbly water. We thought that it was a nice option so we ordered bubbly water. She never told us we would be charged for a whole bottle of Pellegrino at the end! She made it sound like it was complimentary, like the regular water. Even beyond that, we found this server to be quite aloof and it honestly made us feel as though we may not come back."

Intimate setting, clean as a whistle, farm to table quality food, and superior service. If you’re looking for a Centex, Italian cuisine made to order this place is as good as anything in the north end. Visualizza piatti

I had my husband's birthday party there for 16 people. The food was delicious. We had appetizers, entrees and desserts. The service was excellent. Our server Pamela was outstanding handling the large number of people. Our guests enjoyed themselves- it was a great night!

Good Italian place with great servers! It faces a lake, however there is a road in between with a lot of traffic noise if one cares about that. Food was okay, ‘free’ bread that was served was a bit underbaked, minestrone soup was well-cooked but salty, lobster ravioli tasted good but the pasta was thick and chewy, and the sauce had very strong tomato flavors. A slice of Orange that was hiding in the sauce disguising as a vegetable also left some aftertaste.

"had a nice dinner at Davio's on a busy Saturday night with my wife. we had reservations and upon arrival it was a hoping place. We were seated about 15 minutes after our reserved time but that was because it was a bit backed up. We were seated near the bar in a roomy booth. We were immediately approached with water, pop-overs and a drink order. I would guess that it was about as a busy as it could get....a Saturday night leading up to the Holidays will do that...for sure. We were not sure what we wanted to do....should we order a few appitizers and share those or should we get a main dish. Everything that was passing the table looked great....we sat and chatted before deciding to get a main dish each. I ordered the 8 oz filet, cooked medium well, with some mashed potatoes. My wife ordered an Asian salad with avacado, peanuts, carrots, noodles, which they told her was big enough for two. As we ordered, our drinks were refilled and table cleaned up a bit from the crumbs and empty glasses. Upon receiving the food, I was a bit worried that we didnt order enough food. The 8 oz seemed small and I was thinking that maybe I should have ordered some asparagus or brocolli to go along with the potatoes. I was wrong, what I ordered was perfect. The steak was cooked perfect and was soo good! My wife's asian salad a a perfect size for her, as well. She was thrilled with the size and the taste. After finishing dinner, we were asked about dessert but neither one of us were interested. We were approached by a Manager, who asked how everything was and if the service was up to par. We answered in the affirmative. We were both thrilled with how the entire experience was. i gave 5 stars because what we received for service and food was what we expected. Excellence!....we will be back, for sure, in the late winter/early spring for another great night out! Something to consider: Parking is great! No hassle trying to find a spot....which is always something that I take into consideration. I love the Seaport and eating in the North End, but the parking is something that you need to start thinking about 30 minutes before you even arrive in town!"
