"Went here on a Monday evening to celebrate a birthday. I had high hopes of this place after reading so many stellar reviews. Our Antipasta plate was mediocre at best with packaged meats placed on the plate. The small triangles of cheese tasted more like domestic Romana and not Parmigiano as stated. Caprese had Roma tomatoes, which I suppose are the most colorful they could obtain in December. Caesar had good taste of anchovies, but was very dry and needed more olive oil. My veal piccata arrived smothered in lemon gravy. Piccata is a lightly floured veal, sauteed in a pan and finished with butter, lemon, wine and capers. It appeared that the cooked had made a corn starch slurry and added to make what resembled country gravy. It looked nothing like the image on the website. I had 3 bites and left the rest. Surprisingly, the waitress never even questioned if I liked it. Perhaps the cook was off on this Monday night and they let the dishwasher prepare the meals. Our meatballs tasted as if they were a processed frozen product. Linguine clams was essentially a soup with noodles and small clams. At least 25 of the clams were shell only, telling me they overcooked it. Service was good, but not once did the waitress come by and pour any of the 2 bottles of wine we purchased. It was as if we brought our own and paid the corkage. I really wanted to like this place because I love Italian food. I cannot recommend, nor will I ever return."

"We have often gone to Hawks for special occasions and enjoy it. However, the menu has gotten more and more limited. It had only about 9-10 entree options. We usually get fish, but with only one option that I didn't care for the description, I chose the filet. Mine was excellent, but my husband said his salmon was OK; unimpressive in his words. We split a Caesar salad, which was very good. My biggest complaint was that I ordered Bacardi rum and coke. The waiter brought my drink, and it didn't taste right. Turns out they substituted a different rum. The waiter said they didn't carry Bacardi, but I didn't like the substitute at all. I asked if they had Captian Morgans Spiced Rum, and he said you, but brought another drink, but it still didn't taste right. However, it was better than the first drink, so I let it go. Turns out, it was also the wrong rum. If I go again, I will try to remember to take my own! I'm not sure if we will return. There are many very good restaurants in the area with more comprehensive menus and my favorite beverage."

"The sandwiches were amazing. Had a hot roast beef hero, and it was tender, flavorful, and a large portion for a half. Food was phenomenal, and everyone left happy with their food. "I usually don't like to give negative reviews about nearby restaurants, especially when I've had good sushi there before, but today was a different story. I brought my daughter for lunch and although the sesame chicken was okay and the udon was decent, the fried noodles and desserts were the standout dishes. However, there was something off about the oil used to cook the food - it was either old, rancid, burnt, or reused. I decided to stay quiet and not mention anything to my daughter. The service was also quite slow, but I won't complain about that. The restaurant's carpet was visibly dirty as well. Overall, it might be time to start looking for a new place to eat."
