"We were in town for just one night and were lucky enough to be able to walk to downtown from our hotel. We had attempted to get dinner reservations but the town was hopping with tourists like us and the local high school had their prom. I had a craving for Italian and though no reservations were being taken at Rosa's we gave it a shot. We arrived on the early side for dinner and put our name in for a table. It only took about 20 mins and we were able to get an outside table. Good for people watching.I ordered the white sangria which was very good I could have drunk a whole pitcher! For dinner I got the chicken parm with angel hair. My wife got the large caesar salad with anchovies. We shared the two items and it was plenty of food since the portions were so big. Everything was very tasty.The service was good and the kitchen was very, very fast. Perhaps this is how they could keep things moving. The prices were reasonable.We had a nice experience."

"Had trouble being recognized and seated. Both evening; and, the following morning. They should do away with the Please Wait to be Seated sign if there is no master plan for seating the guest. After standing around and searching for eye contact (quite obviously, a couple standing at the podium) we actually left and came back, seated ourselves, and shared an entree. The food ceased to matter. The next morning after standing at the podium and being wholly ignored again, we just bailed out and visited The Raven (around the corner) where we seated ourselves and enjoyed breakfast. We tried, twice."

"Recently I had a birthday, and for it my wife went to Shannon 's to get me a cheesecake for my party. While there, the manager offered her to have the party at the establishment on Sunday even though they are technically closed....with the only caveat being that we buy the food like we would as if they were open.My wife surprised me with having it at Shannon 's, fully knowing how much I love their quaint, easy going atmosphere, and delicious food. There was about 15 of us at my party, and the staff on hand did a wonderful job catering to every one of us. The staff 's service and desire to meet our every need was as pleasant as the delicious food they served us. And, as always, the cheesecake was amazing. People that were there that claimed to not be cheesecake fans were quickly reverted to team cheesecake upon their first bites.I would, and always will, recommend Shannon 's to everyone I know. Thank you for being such an intricate part of an amazing birthday. I 'll be back soon!"

"I hesitated to write this review because in the middle of service apparently the chef went to the ER and the GM was forced to step up and cook. Unfortunately what came out of the kitchen was a disaster. The Poutine was cold and the cheese was unmelted. There was practically no gravy. My wife had the Short Rib grilled cheese sandwich which sounded great. It was not. Again the sandwich was cold and so were the duck fries. My guess is that our food sat on the line while they tried to recoup from their staff emergency. Given what we were told about the staff problem I might not have written this review at all but there’s more. Before we even ordered we were advised of the multiple unavailable menu items which made one stop and wonder. All the fish items were not available. The pear salad was unavailable and the table behind us had problems with their order too. Our server Jessie is the only reason I even gave this restaurant two stars. He did everything he could to remain positive under impossible circumstances. The outdoor seating is very pleasant and we wish we could have reported more positively. If you have something on your menu it should be available. Multiple unavailable items is just not acceptable. Don’t advertise what you can’t produce. . I’d call ahead if you’re considering a visit. We drove nearly two hours on our wedding anniversary and looked forward to a great experience. This was anything but that."

"The food was excellent, and the coffee was decent! The ambiance of the place was charming as well. However, I didn't feel a particularly friendly or welcoming vibe from the staff, although they were generally nice. Perhaps I had higher expectations after spending the weekend at the Merchant. Overall, it’s a cute spot, but I’d suggest the staff be a bit more approachable when answering questions from out-of-town visitors looking for dining recommendations. I would definitely come back! The food was great, but it might be worth considering a coffee upgrade."
