"The food was quite good, but I was disappointed with the portion sizes. I've been to Abbigail's in Simsbury, and it is by far the better choice. I ordered scallops, which were tasty, but there were only four medium-sized ones, and they were served on a ridiculously small bed of risotto. There was also a tiny amount of some vegetable on top, which honestly was too small to even be considered a vegetable. I would definitely return to Abbigail's, but I'm uncertain if I would spend money at Cal's again."

Seating was poor. Small table, no salt or pepper on the table over crowded table was at the top of the stairs, not very romantic for that dinner with that special someone. Food was excellent Service was also excellent. Would go back on a regular evening non holiday

Perfect sized portions nicely prepared presentation was well done. Ambiance, soft music hints in the background; that didn't drown out the murmur of guests in a lovely setting that is warm and inviting. Helpful wait staff no hurry and no excessive waittime's between courses.

Don?t let the parking lot deceive you. This is a 4-5 star restaurant. I came in with mid level expectations and left thinking I had to leave them a review. The food is wonderful the fish and rice I had was cooked perfectly, the service is spectacular, Jayour server dealt with a crying baby, a feeding baby, and some picky eaters and didn?t bat an eye, and the atmosphere is equallyas nice nice. I am a Pennsylvanian and would recommend anyone in this areas to Cal?s.
