"Fancy dining at a gas station, you say? Yup! And you won't be disappointed! I've been to Hay J's before years ago with my manager and my lead. This time I took a couple of my engineers who are also working in the area. They thought I was joking, clearly the joke was on them! We walked in (early) without reservations, and I think we were lucky to get in. Soon after the restaurant was super busy. So I would recommend making reservations, otherwise you can dine solo in the small bar area. The menu is small, but the dishes they serve are well thought out! Both times I've come through I've had nothing but great food! Recently we ordered the Ahi Poke as an appetizer. I also ordered the soup du jour (I was hungry), which was a white bean soup with pancetta and kale, and absoultely delicious! I'm pretty sure I could have that as my entree, if I requested, it was that good! For my entree, I had the Parmesan crusted Halibut, it was on a bed of basmati rice and topped with a lemon-thyme butter creme. I cleaned that plate! Service was great! I was glad they weren't hovering around and we never felt rushed (we actually stayed there for 3 hours)! If I'm in the Spokane Valley, I'll likely pay a visit here every time!"

"The food is consistently excellent, and the service is top-notch! I've found the best fish and chips here, along with amazing clam chowder and authentic milkshakes! I usually go for the peanut butter flavor, but all the options are fantastic. The Family Fish and Chips is more than enough for the four of us, and we often have leftovers. It's a family-owned, local small business that offers a wonderful rustic atmosphere filled with interesting old tools and decor both inside and outside. If you haven't visited yet, it's definitely a place you should try!"

"Met my cousin and my aunt here for lunch today. I just started working down the road from here and there's only a couple places close by to eat. Especially if you have dietary needs. My aunt has celiac and a shellfish allergy. The staff here was exemplary! They went above and beyond to ensure my aunt could have a nice meal that wouldn't make her sick. The cook came and talked to us and told us all the precautions she'd taken and asked us questions about seasonings she could or couldn't eat. Brandi spent quite a lot of time on the phone with my cousin the day before discussing things so that we could all have a nice lunch together to celebrate my new job and enjoy each other's company for a little while. And our server was simply a doll. I'm sorry I didn't catch her name but she was courteous, helpful, understanding and very sweet and friendly! I can't say enough good things about them. To top it all off the food was delicious. I had a patty melt with fries and my cousin had their chicken bacon ranch salad. My aunt had a variation of their taco salad with grilled chicken and avocado/no tortilla bowl and a side of fries. Thank you to all the staff! You rock!"

"My husband and I decided to come here for our anniversary and we had a lot of fun but the food was honestly a little bit of a letdown. I had the chicken and steak but my chicken was chopped into very small pieces and definitely way over cooked. My steak was better but ordered medium rare and it was not even close… very very medium/well done. I love that they used lots of garlic butter, they flavors were nice. We had a good time anyway, I just wish for the price my meat hadn’t been over cooked.We each had a sushi roll and those were delicious. loved the battered tempura veggie appetizer and our chef made dinner fun.We will probably come back at some point to give it another try."

"Ding How in Liberty Lake... My family has tried this restaurant many times on different days of the week, over 20yrs, hoping for a better meal /or experience. Always rude staff, poor quality food, portion size (better in-person), horrible wait time extremely expensive. I was told it was better back in 2016, must'vemissed that year. Never going back after they (both waitress possible chef/manager on this side of the counter) ignored us standing there, correction starred at us without acknowledging or assisting us after we said we didn't need a table, just wanted to make a To-go order. Finally, the possible chef/manager said I could order. No Egg drop soup, or Miso instead of offering what soup they had, they just kept saying no to every option I picked off of THEIR Menu I was reading in front of them in-person. I asked what they had available and was told to look at the menu... Our $85 for 2 to-go meals took 45m, was cold only a few small chunks of meat. Plus, there is a packaging fee for 2 take-out containers, no chop sticks, sauces, forks, or napkins. Not a busy time, ¾ of the restaurant was empty. Horrible 0*"
