"The worst dining experience I have had in years occurred at the Meadville Cracker Barrel. We stopped on our way back from Erie since it was conveniently located off the exit. We scheduled our spot in line, but that was the only thing that went smoothly. After being seated, we waited over 10 minutes for a waitress to take our order, which was understandable given the busyness of the restaurant. However, things took a turn for the worse when another couple seated next to us received their drinks and food before us, despite ordering after us. After waiting for an unreasonable amount of time for our drinks and food, we ultimately decided to leave. I have never experienced such poor service and would advise travelers to avoid this place and choose elsewhere to dine."

"I feel so bad even leaving this review, and I want to preface this by saying that it is not the fault of the waitstaff. There seemed to be a shortage of kitchen staff. We wanted to try a new restaurant in the area and took my parents out for their 40th anniversary. We had a reservation for 6:00 pm and we were seated promptly. We had a group of 5 that ordered a few appetizers, two burgers with fries, and 2 entrees. It took about 45 minutes for appetizers (deep fried basic food including wings and onion rings) to come out to the table. After being seated at 6 we waited until about 7:40 for entrees to come out. It came out plate by plate, but had to ask for silverware and waited about 25 minutes to see the waitress/the bartender to get it. By the time we got to eat the food, some was cold, but the food that had just come out was hot. Overall, the food tasted fine nothing spectacular, but certainly not bad. Some parts of the order were a little wrong, no big deal. The waitress apologized multiple times, and on a $135 bill, they did discount it by $22, but truly, it should have been comped to a greater degree. Multiple patrons walked out because it took so long. We were one of 2 or 3 tables that stayed, although, I wish we had not to be honest. It takes the cake as the worst dining experience I have had thus far in my life, but I am glad we were surrounded by the company of family, and I am glad that the staff was kind."

"Of all the sub shops in the area, this is my favorite. The people who work here are helpful. The first time I went here a few years back, I customized a sub for my guy and he was floored with the amount of meat that was on it. The subs are already huge, so add a few more meats and this was a SUB!! I don't get to visit Meadville as frequently as I used to so it's been a while. I walked in and was greeted by the same outstanding customer service and pleasantly surprised that they had bubble tea, which was customizable and delicious (there was a decaf option with lemonade instead of black tea). My husband LOVED his sub (bacon club). I took a risk and ordered the lobster roll on brioche--the bun looked and tasted great. I ended up passing on the lobster because it wasn't the color that I am accustomed to from lobster (light pink instead of white). Definitely not a maine lobster roll or like the ones in NC. This was my error because when I saw the lobster being scooped out, right then I should have changed my order and kept that amazing brioche bun with other veggies. I'll definitely return because the food is really good and the portions are immense and the brioche is calling to me. The food also travels well without getting soggy. Service is expedient and the people are helpful. Side note--you may get two meals out of one sub. Deducted one star because of the lobster since I tried it and it tasted off; threw it away. I'm picky so there is that. The Whole Darn Thing is the best sandwich shop in the area!!! Stop and grab one to eat that day or into the next one because they keep well and taste just as good the next day!!"

"I hate to be negative, especially since we genuinely support local businesses, but we encountered an issue where we were charged twice for our meal, with the second transaction occurring nearly a week after our visit. I sincerely hope this was an error, but it’s unfortunate that such mistakes can undermine the trust of loyal customers. I recommend being cautious and double-checking your bank statements, or opting to pay with cash."

"Decent food. Overall nice atmosphere. DO NOT go here if you are constrained for time or unless you order ahead. I have never waited less than 30 minutes for my food. Every time I go I enjoy what I get enough but I find myself asking if it was worth the wait in the end. And it's usually a no. Unfortunately there aren't many options in Meadville for non fast food. You're probably better off coming here when you have the day off or just making your own food at home. This isn't a lunch break type restaurant."
