I visited this place with my family when we were visiting downtown and it was such a charming little place for ice cream! The lady that served us was so kind and welcoming! The location itself feels like a jump back in time to a different era! So neat! Thank you again! What a great experience!

Charming, nostalgic ice cream parlor featuring a selection of oat milk ice cream flavors! As someone who's lactose intolerant, I was thrilled to find a non-dairy option that I could enjoy on a cone (since sorbet on a cone feels strange), and it was absolutely delicious. They also earn extra points for offering three types of cones: sugar cones, waffle cones, and cake cones.

I always make it a point to stop by Chaps when I'm at the Downtown Mall. I love the retro atmosphere, especially with the Western movie playing outside and the classic '50s checkerboard floors and booths inside. The staff was friendly, patient, and encouraged us to try samples. The flavors bring back a sense of nostalgia in a wonderful way. I really enjoyed the Raspberry Coffee cone I had—it was the perfect ending to a delightful visit!

The atmosphere is charming, but I was disappointed with both the ice cream and the service. I paid nearly $6 for a scoop of chocolate chip cookie dough, and when I started eating it, I discovered there were no cookie dough pieces in it. I went back to the counter, assuming there had been a mix-up, but the employee informed me there was no mistake. She explained that the cookie dough often sinks to the bottom of the tub, implying that it's normal not to have any in your scoop. After that, she shrugged and moved on to assist another customer. First, let’s talk about the ambiance. This place is genuinely a feast for the eyes, with its vibrant neon lights and a diner-like atmosphere that makes you feel as if you’ve stepped back in time for a moment. I appreciated their selection of vegan ice cream and decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, two of the flavors were quite disappointing, but I was pleased that my last choice—a pumpkin-themed flavor, if I remember correctly—turned out to be quite delicious. My only complaint is that the vegan ice cream doesn’t have the same creamy texture as traditional ice cream. It feels more like a sweet sorbet mixture, which is perfectly fine, but it’s not quite what I’m looking for yet.
