"This local cafe was recommended to me and it did not disappoint! I came for a late breakfast and they had a wide variety of individually wrapped and packages homemade pastries from pear almond muffins to raspberry tarts. SAFETY For safety (coronavirus) the food prep and storage area is completely separated from the diving area. While I was there staff cleaned windows, tables and countertops regularly between customers. FOOD I ordered a potato leek frittata with goat cheese that they warmed nicely for me to dine in. It was tasty and filling so I took the muffins home to share. My family was very happy with the muffins and only wished I'd brought home more. A wide select of hand crafted beverages were available from coffees to lattes to specialty teas as well as grab and go drinks like juices and locally crafted drinks. They offer self-serve lemon infused water from a spigot and utensils (individually wrapped) in the no frills dining area. AMBIANCE The building is an older one with what appears to be original wood floors and a very high tin ceiling. Walls are painted a standard off white which would be bland if it weren't for the local artist featured who had large colorful pieces on display during my visit. They offered a variety of seating areas from diner stools to small and large tables. There was a great view of Main Street with large glass doors and windows looking out onto the sidewalk. Tables had real candles flickering away on them using the day which complimented the steel table surface nicely by making it a bit more homey and warm. Will definitely return!"

I waited in a long line to find out that they have nothing vegan available. all their pastries have a butter, butter etc. they should sign better so they can at least know before they wait in this line. very disappointed.

I don't write reviews very often in that i am in food service if a place is good, keep it to yourself! This place is great! Best lightest scone i ever ate; wonderful coffee. This place reflects hard work great taste. It is a small menu but it all looks great definitely on my itinerary for future visits.

Breakfast and lunch options include pizza at Chase's Daily. It has a very granola vibe. The layout is pretty unique with lots of plants interspersed around the building. You can also get some decent coffee. In the morning there are several breakfast options. The restaurant is on the Main Street area. It opens at certain times for break and lunch. Visualizza piatti

Great food and produce. Delicious variety. First class mesclun mix! Interesting art too. PS: Negative reviews are all probably from NYC tourists who are upset that they had to wait in line... because a bunch of other NYC tourists overran the place before them that day and forced them to wait in line. Uhhhh... if you don't want to wait in line there are plenty of empty, mediocre establishments in town.

Great place to stop for a bite, even if you aren't a vegetarian! I typically require meat to be included in all my meals, so an all vegetarian restaurant can be difficult. However, every meal I have had at Chase's has been fabulous! They have 3 daily specials and a soup to choose from and you really can't go wrong! They also have a great baked goods section and a huge farmer's market type section with filled with beautiful seasonal vegetables!

I visited during the COVID times for lunch, everything eating is taken away and they have set up a covered outdoor dining area in the back. I found that they were three dishes for lunch, two were vegan (curry fried rice and middle eastern mezzo). they offer daily 3 pizzas, one of which is always vegan - my man had the vegan rosmarin potato pizza and said it was fab. they have a few prepared sandwiches, one of which was a tofu runway mi and was fantastic the brot! wow! they were pretty busy so I don't get a chance to ask about brunch options, but hope to visit out soon and check it! I liked the vibe and atmosphere of Chase's Daily quite a bit. Anchored right in the middle of downtown Belfast, I'm sure this is a popular spot year round. We downed several cups of coffee waiting on our friend, and it wasn't my fav. A step above old-school diner coffee but not very flavorful either. The breakfast biscuit I ordered was OK, but paled in comparison to a few others I'd had throughout the trip in both Portland and Bar Harbor. Same goes for the muffin (blueberry) that was forgettable and tasted like something I'd grab at an airport. The other plusses were that they have a market inside of here, and they had some baskets full of apples that we purchased. Again the look and feel of...

Glad we stopped here on our way through town! It's surrounded by cute shops and restaurants amongst the old town buildings. Had it not been so cold and windy we would have walked around a bit more. When we arrived at the restaurant we just missed getting the last available table. However, the place looked pretty big and the host said it would only be a 5 minute wait. Within that time frame we were seated at a table and put in our orders right away as we had time to scan the menu before we were seated. The waitress was very friendly and listed a bunch of daily specials. They all sounded good but I just stuck with the Torta because it sounded good as well. The torta was a generous size, fair f...

"I don't normally post negative reviews. Generally speaking I think a lot of places are trying their best and I want to give them the benefit of the doubt. However, I had such a truly terrible experience at Bell the Cat that I feel compelled to share my experience as a warning to others. Simply put, I ended up paying $80 for a brunch for *two* that wasn't worth $40. The good: The mimosa was good. Was it worth $10? Maybe. The salmon bagel (which I ordered as take out along with brunch) was excellent. Lots of smoked salmon and well worth the $13. The bad: The poached eggs I had with my red flannel hash were rock solid. I might as well have had two hard boiled eggs. The toast was cold, and the fried chicken served with the chicken and waffles was so salty it was inedible. The ugly: Being charged $3 for substituting maple syrup with the chicken and waffles, only to have a bottle of syrup brought with all the condiments. Paying a $1 upcharge for veggies on the salmon bagel. At no point was either charge mentioned by the cashier. I also want to take a moment to call out Bell the Cat's business model. I have no qualms with paying a premium for good service, but Bell the Cat is effectively a sandwich shop with pretensions of being a high-end full service restaurant. By collecting payment first there is zero accountability (aside from angry reviews like this one). Not a single staff person asked me about the quality of the food, and since I did not have an actual server there was no easy way to express my frustration or even find out where to get water (because you have to do that for yourself too). I will not be going back, and I strongly encourage others to spend their money elsewhere too."
