Chef Reina's is one of those hidden gems you wish you had discovered earlier. My only complaint is that the prices are a bit high for the portion sizes, but they are also the only place offering vegan Filipino cuisine in the area.

We sampled their food at the Hella Plants event in Oakland. OMG it was so good, we were totally shocked that everything is completely vegan. The flavor and texture of everything was so amazing the only other time I’ve had super good vegan food like this was at the Cornbread Cafe up in Eugene, Oregon. Definitely check it out, even if you’re not vegan! Food: 5

I had the delicious Tocilog featuring Ube pancakes with fried chicken, which were great. It would have been nice to have some vegan butter and perhaps a bit of maple syrup on the side. The fried chicken was tasty but a bit too much for my liking, and it was quite thick. The brown sugar donut balls were good as well. It's a fully vegan establishment! However, I was disappointed to find that they only offered plastic utensils.

Outstanding Filipino vegan cuisine! We ordered the tocilog and sizzling sisig, both served with garlic rice and a vegan fried egg—wow! We enjoyed every bite and had an incredible meal. The mock pork slices were incredibly impressive, and the vegan fried egg was hands down the best we’ve ever had! A huge shoutout to Chef Reina and her team, and a special thank you to the lovely lady at the counter who let us sample the Filipino-style macaroni pineapple salad—it was so delicious! The vegan Filipino food here is both simple and creatively delicious. My friends and I tried several different plates and à la carte items, including Lechon, Tosilog, CrunchWrap, Birria Quesadilla, and Tacos. Each dish was well-seasoned and incredibly tasty. The Tosilog stood out as a favorite; the texture of the vegan meat was spot-on, and the flavors were authentic and delightful. I also want to highlight the lechon — I've never tasted vegan pork belly that comes this close to the real thing! The person who took our order was very patient and helpful, and the shop's ambiance is minimal yet charming for a take-out place. Overall, a delightful experience!

Be sure to call ahead to confirm they have food available before you visit. We discovered this restaurant on TikTok, and all the dishes featured in the video looked incredible. After driving about 40 minutes to get there, we were disappointed to find that most of the menu items were crossed off, indicating they were out of stock. It was really disappointing because I was looking forward to trying the food. I learned that they had run out of everything on Christmas, and since today is the 28th, it seems they don’t restock their supplies frequently. Once again, make sure to call ahead to check for food availability. I’m not sure I’ll choose to eat here again.

The Tocilog and Sisig had authentic flavors that really surprised us, especially for vegan dishes. The fried vegan egg was a particular highlight, adding an extra dimension to the meal. We loved that extra vinegar is a staple with Filipino cuisine. The Chick'n sandwich was satisfying, with a fresh bun that held up nicely. While I wished it had a bit more sauce, it was still delicious and definitely worth trying. We also sampled the lumpia, and while the shanghai lumpia is a classic that steals the spotlight, the vegetable lumpia was surprisingly impressive too.
