"BEWARE of bad service and extremely long wait times. I used to love Chill Out Cafe, however recently, the service has been absolutely abysmal. I sat down for lunch at approximately 1:20 PM today (Thursday), and it took them about 30 minutes just to bring our waters/drinks. At 2:40 PM (over an hour later) our food was STILL not ready. Important note: they were not very busy. There were probably only 2-3 other tables occupied at the same time. This was a very frustrating experience, and it just felt like they forgot we were there. We ended up having to take our food to go. The waitress did not warn us of the extremely long wait time, check in with us, or apologize. This has happened on other occasions when I have ordered takeout from them (1.5 to 2+ hour wait times, even when they initially say it will take 30-40 minutes). The food is good, but it's not worth it to wait this long! I have eaten at Chill Out Cafe for years, but I will not be back until they drastically improve their service."

Tom Yum soup is pretty good and a nice sized portion for the price. Yaki Udon was very enjoyable as well.

Great food and fair prices! The only strange part that keeps me from leaving 5 stars is that they add a 20% tip and then tax you on the tip as well. They also do not do split checks which can be difficult with larger parties

The service and atmosphere were wonderful; I really enjoyed the tranquil music and decor. The food is absolutely incredible—definitely the best Thai cuisine in the entire South, without a doubt. Even the upscale Thai restaurants in Houston can't measure up. As for vegetarian options, you must try the tofu lad na and red curry; they are simply fantastic! Visualizza piatti

The place has amazing Thai food. The spice level is generally low to suit the palate of local people but you can ask them to spice it up. Their Tom Yum soup with shrimp is amazing and a must try. In their noodle dishes I really enjoy the Pad see ew. When getting spicy dishes don't forget to order a Thai iced tea, its very refreshing. The place is popular among students and it can get really busy, so ordering ahead is preferable.

The food here had a good taste but lacked sauce that I think of when we have Thai food. The sauce I had was a little watery as well. I had the Beef Oyster with Rice. The rice managed to soak up most of the sauce leaving the beef a little on the dry side. Also be weary of price creap; a couple meals, a couple appetizers and a couple drinks ran over 60$. The server was friendly, and the food was delivered relatively quickly after ordering.

An underrated and often overlooked gem of a restaurant, Jamilla's is a family-owned establishment. Jamila is the chef, while her husband manages the front of the house. The food is outstanding. During our recent visit, we enjoyed the mussels, eggplant salad, couscous with fish, and fish with chutney—all of which were excellent. The atmosphere may not be anything extraordinary, but the host and server are attentive and friendly. We dine out five times a week, primarily in Uptown, and honestly, we don’t visit Jamilla's nearly as often as we should. Visualizza piatti

This was likely the best meal we had during our time in New Orleans. Jamila's Cafe came highly recommended by a friend, and I'm so glad we decided to check it out. It's a cozy little spot run by a husband and wife, and they serve some truly outstanding food. My wife ordered the fish while I went for the lamb chops, and both dishes were simply perfect. It was so delicious that I forgot to take a photo! This is definitely a place we'll be returning to on every visit to New Orleans. If you find yourself getting tired of gumbo, jambalaya, and fried foods, I highly recommend giving Jamila's Cafe a try — you won't regret it!

The food did not meet my expectations. I've traveled to North Africa before, so I was hoping for better couscous and tagine. However, the dessert was delicious. Unfortunately, the owner was rude and pretended to be friendly. When I asked the waitress questions about the menu, the owner told her, "We're not doing this," which made me want to leave immediately. It seemed like the owner was trying to leverage cultural elements to their advantage. Ultimately, I left. The restaurant feels more like a local spot, and it appears that they can only manage that. Additionally, the belly dancing performances on Saturdays haven't resumed since the COVID-19 pandemic, so if you're looking for an authentic...
