"I went during lunch, placed an order at 12:03 for a full order of General Tso chicken and replaced the white rice with pork fried rice. Total this order cost me about $22.Service:They were accommodating on the phone and asked me multiple times if I wanted the lunch platter or the full order to ensure I got what I wanted.They offered me sauces on checkout and had my order ready about 2 minutes before their quoted time of 10 mins.I'd say that constitutes 5 stars for a Chinese joint in the service department.Food:The general tso chicken was fresh and delicious. Absolutely drowning in sauce and there were about 5 Florettes of very fresh broccoli. Good stuff!The rice however was bad, one sniff sent me reeling. Not great. Which was a shock when I compared it to the general tso masterpiece I had before.I took a bite despite my reservations and found it to be overcooked, mushy and stale. I would say they probably made it some time earlier in the week and reheated it for me. I tossed it as soon as I got home.Overall I still consider my order a success and when I consider the rice only cost me 5 bucks, I'd say they did a good job.I'll be back!But I'm probably headed elsewhere for my rice fix next time lol."

Good food, good prices. Generous portions and everything was very tasty. I ordered wonton egg drop soup, a shrimp egg roll, and shrimp fried rice. I will definitely be ordering from here again.

This is the best kept secret in Thorndale! Food is cooked fresh and fast! Unlike the competition, China Chef has FLAVOR! We lok forward to lunch and dinner specials and the owners are super friendly.

Reasonable prices and generous portion sizes. From what I've seen in earlier reviews, it seems that the best options are to (1) pay in cash and (2) opt for pick-up only. I've attached some photos of their menu for reference.

This is our family go to in the Thorndale/ Coatesville area. The food is always fresh and delicious. However, their crabrangoon are over done and need to have more filling. We have stoped buying them, they are not worth the money.

I am a delivery driver and I got a order for this restaurant. But that counter lady was so rude. Don’t like that behaviour. She should greet their customers. My new favorite takeout spot in Downingtown! I absolutely love the chicken and broccoli. I haven't tried many other dishes, but the dumplings were quite tasty. The staff has always been really nice and friendly, which is surprising considering some of the reviews I've read. Then again, I always tip well, so that might be why, haha!

Classic takeout Chinese food. Excellent variety. Fast service. Food tastes fresh. Sizeable portions that make for great leftover lunches. Combo platters are a great value. Spice level is modified to customer's liking we have a combination of spice preferences at our house, and both those who love spice and those who prefer mild are happy. Highly recommend.
