Food was great. Service was AMAZING! Chloe is phenomenal.... Friendly and so Polite. Nice little family ran diner. We had four different dishes and everything tasted great.

After driving 30 mi to have lunch we were informed they were out of soup, bacon and lettuce. Great place to go for breakfast though. Very friendly staff. Won't ever drive there for lunch again.

This was one of the best diners I’ve been to in a long time. The waiters were so sweet, the food came out in a timely manner, and there was a lively energy throughout. This is a wonderful local mom-and-pop restaurant that's budget-friendly for the whole family. We enjoyed breakfast there, and my only criticism is that the grits could have used some seasoning in the cooking. I would definitely recommend this place and plan to return when I'm in the area. Just a heads up—when we left, there was a long line of people waiting for tables, so be sure to plan accordingly!

As first-time visitors, we had breakfast there at 10 AM on a Saturday. We were seated promptly, and our food arrived within 10 minutes of ordering. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and gave us a brief overview of the city and the murals displayed in the restaurant, which made us feel very welcome. The food was both affordable and delicious. We tried the shrimp and grits and the dirty bird, and both dishes were fantastic.

My family and I just moved to the area and we were looking for a great breakfast place. This place blew us out of the water! The food was phenomenal and cooked to perfection. Service was great and staff was very friendly and welcoming. Atmosphere is a quiet enjoyable family moment. This is one of the best breakfast places we've been to in a long time. My family and I decided to go out for breakfast one morning during our short stay in Elizabeth City. The options in this small town are somewhat limited, but we eventually discovered Colonial Cafe, which offers a classic breakfast and lunch experience. Their breakfast menu features a variety of items, including omelets, biscuit sandwiches, pancakes, and generous platters. I opted for the Cajun-style fried chicken biscuit ($6.99). Reserved in advance for a family reunion and memorial breakfast for our youngest Son, a USMC Veteran who we lost a year ago. Fortunately I called early this morning just before everyone was due to arrive. I was blamed for reserving the wrong date. In fact, I made the reservation for the only day everyone could attend and immediately noted in my mobile phone calendar. What they actually wrote down and then double-booked was the problem. Sunday at 11:07 a.m. 6.25.2023If I could give negative stars I would! My daughters and I received the worst customer service ever and I would like to hope it wasn't because we were the only persons of color in the restaurant but....we were told it would be a 5 to 10 minute wait to order a carry out order. The lady seated one family that was waiting before wr entered and four families that entered the restaurant after we were already their waiting to place a carry out order. 27 mintues 14 seconds and still nothing!!
