"I should have known better after seeing the Dunkin? Donuts in Old Saybrook with a 4.2 rating and Mirsina?s with a 4.7 rating. How a fast food restaurant serving mass produced junk can rate that high doesn?t reflect positively on the legitimacy of other restaurant reviews. Had high hopes for Mirsina?s based on the ratings but left feeling like it is average at best 2.5 out of 5 stars. We ordered 3 omelets, two vegetarian and one with meat, which were bland, home fries were among the worst we had and didn?t eat them, and the whole wheat toast tasted store brand. Thankfully there was ground pepper and sirrachia sauce to add flavor. We also ordered the Hungry Man, an egg sandwich on a bagel and two side orders of pancakes? for a party of 5. The stars are for the pancakes, blueberry and Oreo, which made up for the rest of the food, fluffy and tasty. Had we not ordered pancakes the rating would have been 2 stars. Another downside though is no real maple syrup, just the mass produced high fructose syrup variety in the commercial single serving tubs. The bill without tax was just under $70 which is reasonable for the amount of food ordered. Given our experience with the food this is a one and done for us. It is also a warning that google ratings are not always accurate."

"We drove for about ten minutes, not knowing what to expect from the menu. When we arrived, we discovered there was no masala chai or snacks listed—just entrées and a couple of traditional Himalayan drinks. One of the staff members, named Man, noticed our disappointment and came out to greet us. He went inside for a moment and returned to let us know that the chef could whip up some tea for us since we had traveled some distance. We were grateful and nodded in appreciation. He soon came back with the masala chai, and even though he was wearing a mask, I could tell he was smiling. He mentioned that they were thankful we chose to visit their bistro, and as a gesture of gratitude, the tea was on the house, along with their special dessert of the day—a Passion Fruit Cheesecake Tart. We exchanged glances and couldn’t help but feel that Connecticut is home to such kind-hearted people. We happily accepted and spoke with the manager, Seema, who welcomed us with just as much warmth as Man. The masala chai was aromatic and delightful! We couldn’t have asked for anything better, but that scrumptious tart was just waiting to be enjoyed. Honestly, I didn’t realize how truly wonderful people could be towards one another. I wish there were more kind souls like them in the world. Connecticut truly offers friendship to those in need. It’s unfortunate that the bistro is currently closed, but I am optimistic about their future growth. A big shout-out to Man and Seema, and also to the chef whom I didn’t get to meet! You have magic in your cooking—please keep it alive! Everyone should check out @the_himalaya_cafe to experience their warmth, delicious food, and heartfelt gratitude. Kid-friendliness: They offer a lovely kid-friendly menu with items like wraps, fries, and burgers, and they can also whip up something special for little ones. Parking: There are plenty of parking spots available on-site. Wheelchair accessibility: The bistro is accessible for those with disabilities and has a ramp for easy entry."

"Went out with another couple for a casual dinner, we were given a specials as well as a dinner menu, we were also given a choice of rooms to sit in. My friend picked the bar room area. Our waiter greeted us promptly and water was provided. Drinks were good, a great pour for wine . The menu is extensive and it was hard to decide so we ordered apps and continued to look for entrees. Pickle brined chicken wings and vegetable egg rolls were tasty. Varied entrees we’re ordered, and most everyone was happy, I will say no one was claiming “this is so amazing “ but everything was tasty between the Reuben/Rachel, salmon salad, and pulled pork tacos. I apparently made the wrong choice, the fish and chips. There were two small heavily battered fingers of fish, and warm off tasting coleslaw, the sweet potato fries were the best part. Not impressed with this at all for the price, or even for any price. Next time I’ll order something else for sure. So we will certainly be back to give it another try. The atmosphere was inviting and perhaps a fried chicken or pulled pork entree would be a better choice."

"Always a wonderful dining experience at Fresh Salt! I was looking forward to having a lovely squash entree on the menu…that I have enjoyed on several occasions, but unfortunately it was not available for some reason…even though it was on the menu. So, a bit disappointed. However, the entree I selected was outstanding…a wonderful salmon dish. All’s well that ends well."

"What a lovely time we had at the Essex! The service was excellent, and the food was very good too excellent. Unfortunately, unfortunately we had to sit outdoors but we got lucky with a beautiful evening. The outdoor speaker was a little loud, but the weight staff was happy to turn it down so we could hear each other better. The food was excellent, except that my halibut had too much Asian soy sauce sitting in the bottom, soaking up in the rice. And my spring salad was almost exactly what I got for vegetables in my halibut dish, so it was a little bit redundant. they did serve a creamy asparagus soup that was out of this world. We will definitely come back."
