"During a recent journey that took us through Hudson, Wisconsin, and on to La Crosse, we found ourselves seeking a convenient halfway point to meet with family and decided on a dining spot in Durand. Given Durand's modest selection of dining establishments, our expectations were tempered. However, I'm pleased to report that the experience was a positive one. The venue proved itself to be a noteworthy stop, offering a menu that, while perhaps common to the area's bar scene, was executed with a quality that ensured a satisfying meal. It might not claim the title of the absolute best in local bar cuisine, but it certainly did not disappoint. The food was decent, and in all honesty, it aligned with what one might expect from a bar in Durand, Wisconsin. This place stands as a solid choice for travelers seeking a reliable meal in the area, reflecting the local culinary landscape with competence and charm."

"This is THE home of comfort food. Don't you miss the old days of drive-ins a the perfect greasy meal. It lives in Durand. The Panther has stayed true to its culture and in doing so made itself a landmark. The nostalgia is unbeatable. My only complaint is perhaps a vegetarian or vegan option. However, that is not a make or break. This place will be popular for generations. I highly recommend getting yourself out to grab a bite here. Kid-friendliness: There's plenty of picnic tables to enjoy your meal with kids, friends and family alike. Ice cream flavors and options for DAAYYS. I used to beg as a kid to get Panther. Parking: Lots of open parking and even traffic flow."

"Only had breakfast there a couple of times but thought it was pretty good little cafe. Good portions, decent prices, had some good vegetarian and gluten free options on the menu, staff was friendly. Always fresh flowers on the tables, nice detail. Ididn't think I could eat their huge stuffed hashbrowns, a Denver omelet cheese between two hash brown patties, but my husbandwent for it (picture). And OMG they have the same with sausage gravy over it called a hangover special or something like that.Don't want to know the calorie count for that! Thankfully they offer fresh friut and other menu options for someone like me."

"Fish fry was overly greasy in my opinion. Almost as if it didn 't have time to have the oil shaken off before it hit the platter. When discussed with the bar manager she was snide and disrespectful. I was told it comes from a vat of grease and you 're the only one who 's complaining. When I explained that I thought maybe it had not had time to sit and let the grease dip off, her response was I already comped your meal. That verbage was less than my idea of customer centered and definitely not expected during a 1st visit on an establishment that came so highly recommended. Sure my meal was comped but I would have preferred the option to have my meal prepped again as I had requested with the deep fryer basket having time to allow time to drop that extra oil off. Utter disappointment"

"This is a fantastic little bar and grill in a small town. Honestly, I didn't have high expectations, so I forgot to take my usual pre-meal photo. At first glance, it seemed like just a bar with a few food options. However, my perspective changed with every bite. Halfway through my meal, I thought, “Wow, this burger is really good!” As shown in the picture! The ingredients were fresh, and the burger was packed with flavor. The staff was friendly, and my meal came out quickly, which I really appreciated since I was pressed for time. So, don’t judge this place by its appearance when you walk in!"
