Dewey's Bakery - Piatti

A staple of Winston-Salem. Always good and friendly. Stopped in for cake squares. (They give one to each person on Monday). As always, they were fresh and tasty. They have cute gifts and ice cream too!

Beyond the fact that their cake is amazing its really the customer service that adds to the amazing experience, helpful and they offer military discount. I love them and I hope to keep coming back for years to come. Highly suggest!

today i went into dewey’s to order some ice cream with my family and i had to leave without getting any ice cream because the manager Candy was yelling and making a huge scene. it was absolutely unacceptable and frankly disrespectful. i will not be coming back because it is not a family friendly place. I used to love Tauey's Bakery, but my recent visit left me disappointed. The manager, who I believe goes by the name "Sweetness," spoke disrespectfully to her employees. The front staff, especially the girl who was training, was friendly and attentive, but Sweetness was rude and defensive. This negative interaction ruined my experience at the bakery.

Pre-Thanksgiving visit for very traditional baked goods. Moravian cookies are among my favorites, and Dewey's did not disappoint. Very pricey for a small (Pringles-type) can, but still worth the $10 bucks for a once a year unique treat and gift for office or friend gifts. They were packed with people, but the staff was courteous and quick. I do recommend it!

dewey always has great cake. we have made the mistake of getting cookies sandwiches while we waited for one of the great ladies there to finish the birthday cake we bought. they were delicious and gigantic: two huge chocolate chip cookies that support at least one centimeter frost between them. so, much. zucker! dewey is excellent. service is great, the cakes are great. they are not cheap or cheap. I have been a loyal customer of Dewey's for 25 years, but I was disappointed with my experience today. I purchased two cream horns which had much less filling than before and were twice the price. The pink lemonade roll cake I bought was also stale. I have not been impressed with the quality of their baked goods recently. It seems that Dewey's is now focusing more on gifts rather than their bakery items. This may have been my last visit to Dewey's.

I love Dewey’s but my favorite are the corner pieces of the cake! I was in Winston Salem to buy cake squares and ask for the cake end pieces because that is my favorite. The Asian girl was pretty rude and immediately let me know they would not sell me those because other customers does not like end pieces. I wasn’t buying for other customers and truly feel like the customers should be honored their request since they are paying customers. I would want to make customers happy rather than being rude about asking for what they want and are paying for! If the customer wants end pieces, why can’t we get them?? On July 9th, 2022, I purchased a package of Moravian sugar cookies for my wife. Each package was priced at $28. I bought one at the Reynolda store and noticed that the expiration date was August 2nd, 2022. I checked other containers of sugar cookies and they all had similar expiration dates. I went to the Thruway store and found the same issue. It's disappointing that a well-established company like Dewey's would deceive customers in this way. There were still about 16 days until the expiration date, yet the price remained high at $28.
