"We planned a romantic birthday dinner at Elenis and drove out from upstate NY with pretty high expectations.. The service was great but everything else was super disappointing. The eggplant dish was basically an empty eggplant shell loaded loaded with tons of sautéed onions and tomato sauce. I asked for a salad with dressing on the side but they delivered the salad drenched in oil, their website states that they use extra virgin olive oil but then the waitress confirmed that everything gets cooked in canola oil."

One of the best Greek spots in NYC. Would highly recommend the fish.

Came from Greece for vacations and stamped upon this little gem in Gramercy park. Felt like I was back I'm greece. Amazing food -best octopus I've ever had- and the service top notch- definitely recommend! Visualizza piatti

The environment and service was great. It was a simple and mostly white design but would let people feel quiet. I really love its style. Pre fixed lunch was in suitable amount. Octopus was drier but everything else was good.

This is a great location in NYC. It's convenient to meet family and friends. The decor will take you to Greece! I highly recommend the authentic Greek salad!! All of the good, including desserts were delicious. I'm so glad my friend, Halcyone Thomas, is friends with Eleni. I really enjoyed it!

According to NYC Law, owners do not own the sidewalk in front of their establishments and must contain 8 feet of public walk space. This place set up chairs that leaves less than 8 feet of space. I sat down for a minute and the barista in the pink shirt want to harass me and others for sitting down. I will never eat here for this reason. Visualizza piatti

Beautiful atmosphere – it was like being in Greece in a taverna. Staff was very knowledgable about different drinks, and the history of some dishes. Prices were a little steep – I had the chicken brochette which was delicious, but only came with a scoop of rice. I was hoping to have some potatoes with it, but that was extra. But overall, a wonderful experience and would definitely go back.

I am Greek and judge Greek restaurants very strictly. Eleni’s surpassed all my expectations. Their octopus is the most tender and tasty I’ve had in years. Their fish is moist and very fresh. Our server Yianni was extremely knowledgeable and gave us a little wine pairing that truly complimented our diner. The atmosphere reminds me of Greece and Elena the owner is the sweetest. We will be back for sure!

"We went to Bread N Wine on a early Saturday afternoon for brunch. We were greeted and seated by the servers who were attentive. The food was okay the bread was really soft and fresh. My partner got the French Lentil Soup, Spinach and Tomato Egg Bake andI got the French onion soup, egg omelette with spicy tomato avocado and onions. I wasn 't happy with my omelette because thespicy just meant it was covered in hot sauce within. For beverages, we got chai lattes (we later found out it wasn 't tea basedbut rather coffee) and we had the option of oat milk, almond milk or regular milk. In terms of our overall experience we feltby the end too many things were steering the experience south; the worst was when we were accused of using counterfeit money topay for the tip. There was no special marker used to prove that the money was counterfeit or technology to back up this claim. That experience alone left a bad taste in our mouth as we left embarrassed by that claim, kind of shook from that, we stilladded the tip to our credit card 18%. As we walked out and talked about how weird that was, the owner of the business nextdoor overheard us and asked to see the $20 bill he showed us that our money was real and validated what we knew, that themoney wasn 't counterfeit. When we went back into Bread N Wine to discuss this there was no apology, just well, it felt thatway , shrug. It left a terrible feeling. We would not go back after that, this is not how you treat customers from start tofinish, hence the 2 star review."
