"Many places in the Dells do not take reservations so we didn't think to make reservations for supper at the Del-Bar in the off season. There was a 45 minute wait on Thursday evening or they serve a full menu in the bar with no wait. We opted for the bar. We ordered crab cakes $20! for appetizers and pan seared walleye and bone-in ribeye for our meals. Crab cakes were a bit on the small side but had excellent flavor and texture and no filler. The roumalade sauce isprobably the best we've ever had. Likewise, the walleye was perfectly cooked so that the delicate texture came through complimented by the tartar sauce. The ribeye was one of the best we've ever had and we've had lots . Melt in your mouthtender with tons of flavor paired with creamy mashed potatoes. The Del-Bar tops our list of restaurants in the Dells."

"If you're looking for a unique dining experience, this is the place to visit! The atmosphere is cozy, the music selection is great, and there's plenty of space, so you won't be bumping into your neighbors while moving around the restaurant. The wait staff is friendly and polite. The food is delicious, offering a variety of options with generous portion sizes! They serve your steak on a hot stone and guide you on how long to cook it, even providing a timer for your table. The meat was cooked to perfection! My husband, who frequently orders steak at restaurants, usually complains that it's not cooked the way he likes it. However, this time, he couldn't stop praising it. Not only was it cooked to his liking, but the seasoning was also fantastic! We would definitely recommend High Rock Cafe and plan to dine here again! - Asha"

"Original Mac: M.A.C.S. Macaroni And Cheese Shop) originated in the Waterpark Capital of the World aka Wisconsin Dells a decade ago in 2013. It has since disseminated to several other locations around the state. In addition to the classic comfort dish, M.A.C.S. also serves up melts, limited desserts, and a rotating flavor of the month mac cheese. Like any good Wisconsinite I love cheese carbs) so mac cheese is a favorite cheat meal of mine. For this visit I went with the Original Mac, which consists of cheddar and mozzarella cheeses. Pretty simple, but it 's also topped with crispy breadcrumbs a toastie . The toastie is essentially a giant thin crouton that 's crunchy and has a nice buttery flavor. Speaking of buttery flavor, the roux is thick, creamy, cheesy, and also adds a buttery taste to the macaroni noodles. I love that the top layer of the mac cheese is perfectly crispy as it contrasts nicely with the creamy inner portion. M.A.C.S. serves their cheesy entrees in a cool looking skillet that does a fantastic job of keeping the food warm. It 's a little pricey for fast food, but totally worth the occasional indulgence. "The restaurant features three bars, with a fourth currently under construction, along with plenty of unique lounge and patio seating areas for enjoying cocktails or appetizers. PRO TIP: If you're planning to visit soon, steer clear of the patio on the left side facing the lake, as the construction noise there is quite loud. The stunning view of Mirror Lake is truly priceless! Their promotional materials claim that every table has a view, but unfortunately, we were seated at the only table that didn’t have one. I should have declined the table when offered, but I didn’t. PRO TIP: Avoid the table next to the fireplace; while it might be pleasant in late fall when the fire is lit, it offers no view and is too close to the host station, making it noisy. Our server was adequate—slightly slow in taking our order but attentive when it came to clearing away used items. I was disappointed that she didn’t show us the dessert tray when I mentioned we hadn’t saved room. I saw it at a couple of other tables and was quite curious about it. Now, onto the food—it was wonderful! I had the prime rib and shrimp, while my husband claimed his filet was the best he’s had since his favorite steakhouse closed. The grounds themselves are unique, featuring signs that describe various aspects of the property, along with a fun gift shop. They serve privately labeled wine and brandy bourbon from local distilleries, which you can purchase for $35 and $40, respectively. PRO TIP: Ishnala is a Native American name, and they incorporate that theme throughout the restaurant with bar names, taxidermy, photographs, and teepees around the property, which some may find offensive. Overall, Ishnala is a must-visit dining experience in Wisconsin, especially for foodies!"

"First of all, I really wish I would've taken pictures but we were so hungry that we literally inhaled it. LOL. Second, I'm from Chicago and am very particular about what people call Chicago pizza and Chicago hotdogs. I must say, this place is legit. The Chicago dog was perfect all the right toppings (onions, sliced tomatoes, hot peppers, perfect dill pickle slice) and mustard. Only mustard. Plus the steamed poppyseed bun! The sausage and Italian beef combo was also perfect. I also really appreciated the Wisconsin touch deep fried cheese curds. The only thing I wish is that they had Coke products instead of Pepsi. Otherwise, this place is awesome."
