"Our server was friendly and mostly attentive, although we had to ask for beverage refills. Unfortunately, the language barrier made it challenging to clarify menu items due to my food allergy. We started with the Hamachi Crudo for $25. While it was flavorful, the serving size was disappointing, consisting of only six tiny bites—less than 2 ounces of yellowtail. For our main courses, my husband and I both chose the Friday Heritage dinner featuring stuffed sole, only to later discover it contained my allergen. So, I opted for the duck with farroto and acorn squash. Both my farroto and my husband’s haricots verts (essentially green beans) were undercooked. Additionally, my husband’s basmati pilaf was overwhelmed by the taste of coconut, making it less enjoyable. The portion of the sole was merely 3-4 ounces of fish with about two tablespoons of crab stuffing, all for $34. If the entrees had tasted good and met the quality one would expect from a restaurant established in the '30s in a high-end resort town, the price wouldn’t have been an issue. However, the duck was particularly greasy, and the flavor of the duck fat lingered in my mouth long after the meal. In total, our bill, including food, drinks, and tip, exceeded $200 for two people. It’s not about the expense when the taste and quality fail to deliver. We chose to dine here for convenience, not wanting to brave the cold outside, but in retrospect, we should have ventured out. Save your time and money; this restaurant simply isn’t worth it."

"This restaurant used to be fantastic. I have been there many times before. However, something changed this year. The atmosphere lacks soul and the physical experience is not great. The booths in the dining area are uncomfortable and located right under speakers, making it difficult to have a conversation. Additionally, they feel cold because the vestibule is no longer present, and the door opens directly into the dining room. There are definitely better dining options available."

"The food and pastries at this restaurant are outstanding! The ham and croissant were among the best I've ever had, and the sticky pecan roll was simply delicious. We also tried the salmon-ox bagel, which was fantastic as well. Overall, the dishes were delightful. However, I gave only 4 stars due to the service we received. The hostess, Jane, misled us on two occasions: first, she claimed there was only one seat left, and then when we wanted to switch to an empty table, which was available, she said there was no server for that table. Yet, within just ten minutes, three other couples came in and were seated there! We haven't encountered such poor service in a long time, despite our frequent travels. Interestingly, the couple that had to relocate their child even apologized to us, although it wasn’t their fault at all. They mentioned that they've been there every day this week and that Jane had been rude to them each morning."

"I use to love the Sawtooth club but the last couple of times I went the service really went downhill which is a bummer because the food is really great, but difficult to enjoy when service doesn't match. I recently went with a group of 5 for a birthday dinner. We were seated and it took about 20 min to get our drinks, then about 10 min after that our waitress took our food order. 40 minutes went by and the waitress said she forgot to put our food order in. At this point we were all hungry and somewhat grumpy, Another 30 min later we got our food, one of the persons order was wrong entirely but she accepted it so she didn't have to wait. The waitress did apologize for not putting in our food order, but they didn't comp us the meal that was wrong or any drinks or anything for the wait. Once I got my meal it was good but wasn't necessarily worth the wait."

"It is truly one of my favorite restaurants anywhere. I always make a point to dine there when I am in town. The only difficulty is that it is hard to not order my standbys that I crave in my absence and try other items on the menu. Friday night instead of the Strega (which I dream about) I ordered the salmon special which was divine. And now I am in Boise, pining away for a Strega pizza, and will make a point to eat more than one meal there when I am in town."
