"It’s a cute place with a retro vibe. We love old school diners and a good burger and fries! We drove 3 hours to try this place!! Unfortunately, our server, we didn’t get her name, (butterfly tattoo on the back of her neck) completely shunned us. She didn’t ask us how the food was, never asked if we needed a refill (which we did need, but never got), we couldn’t even get an extra napkin. She charged us for the grilled onions and bacon my husband asked to have added to his sandwich, yet it absolutely was not on his sandwich and we never could get her attention to let her know. It was not busy here at the time we came in. She never would even look our way. We finally decided in the end it wasn’t even worth wasting our breath about the extra $2.50 we were charged for the bacon onions. We were just ready to leave at that point. The French fries were excellent on a bright note. I think it would have been a great experience had we had a better server. Needless to say, it wasn’t worth the 3 hour drive….luckily we found a bakery and a couple of other fun places to shop!"

Portions are generous, the food is delicious, staff is friendly, the atmosphere is old school diner (except there's also alcohol served for those who want it), and the cinnamon rolls are amazing.

I had a horrible server who was on her phone the entire time...idk her name but she has green hair... (Edit)... I'm changing my review from one star because that was my first visit to Hamburger Inn and over the past two years I've eaten there many times and they have been amazing..the food, the cooks, and especially the servers..one bad server having a bad day shouldn't warrant a bad review forever.. they are definitely a very special part of Delaware!
