"Hapa is a great choice for groups that might contain a mix of diners ranging from sushi/sashimi aficionados all the way to picky eaters, vegetarians and children because they do so many things well. The raw fish is delicious and fresh because they do a tremendous volume in their new location, but the salads are also large and varied and the cooked dishes are beautifully prepared. The wait staff is comprised mostly of CU undergraduates who have been expertly trained and includes several foodies that have sampled most of the menu. The Sake menu is extensive and all three of the major Japanese beers (Kirin, Sapporo and Asahi) are available. Must have highlights include: (1) the daikon fries and edamame for appetizers; (2) the seaweed salad; (3) too many special rolls to mention; (4) the Ahi tuna crispy entre; and (5) the vanilla/chocolate/green tea Mochi for dessert. Try a flask of the plum infused sake with your daikon fries and then experiment with their extensive menu and specials--their chefs and entire kitchen are first rate."

What happened to Hapa? We have always loved them, but on the last two visits our fish was not fresh and the ginger had seen better days. Is this an issue with a new supplier, perhaps? We want the old Hapa back...fresh ingredients and friendly staff. Love the new location though.
