The taste of the veggie rice alone is worth the trip. Enjoyed my salmon and shrimp lunch, got two whole meals out of it. So good and worth it.

GREAT FOOD. I eat here as often as I can. Been doing it for a few years now. The place is always clean, comfortable and feels like home. The owner always greet me with a smile and kind word. The portions are always just enough. The place is world class.

Love this place, small quant and full of love . Best fried fish in va yes va healthy harty comfort foods soul/african fuison food with a flare. U will b ahh tucked away in a referbushed home. Coming Home. I have been a fan of Kente 's for years. I had my first introduction to Vegetarian Cuisine. It was GREAT! I love the cozy, afrocentric atmosphere. As soon as you enter, you are greeted with warm smiles. You feel like you have come home for that long awaited 'home cooked ' meal. The desserts are out of this world. ! Finally got to try this place out! It is a house in a residential neighborhood. The service was very friendly and there were quite a few specials. There were vegetarian dishes though she was out of the wheat gluten one. I will have to go back and try that. I ordered the vegetable curry and green beans. It all tasted very fresh and home cooked. Though my stomach was full, I had to get some homemade cake. Delicious! There was a meeting area to the side though Overall the dining area was cozy (small).

I completely agree with a previous review: if you only focus on the exterior, you might overlook it, but don’t! The ambiance is really welcoming, blending a bit of African and American vibes, making it enjoyable for families. Don’t forget to check out the games and magazines they have on hand. During my first visit, they were playing The Cosby Show, and on my second visit, I got to enjoy the movie Ray. Make sure to try the desserts as well—they're just delicious!

I visited Kente's with a colleague during my lunch break. She had been raving about the place, so I decided to give it a shot, albeit skeptically. At first glance, Kente's resembles a hole-in-the-wall; I didn't even realize it was a restaurant until we stepped inside. The dining area has a cozy, home-like atmosphere, although seating is limited due to the small size of the space. We both ordered the curry chicken served over white rice, and it was delicious! I'm not usually a big fan of curry, but this dish was very satisfying and the chicken was tender. Plus, the price was quite reasonable. I plan to return and bring my boyfriend next time.
