"Ordered chicken and waffles and the chicken was good. Only my drum stick tasted freshly made. The other piece had to have been sitting because it was dry. The waffle.. DEFINITELY store bought. Not made in house. My husband's beef platter was tasty but the beef was so dry you can tell just by looking at it. The banana pudding..same thing. My wafer cookies were disintegrating into the pudding and beyond mushy. That's not banana pudding. The j chicken patty was really really good! It definitely didn't taste like j chicken but overall that and the tea lemonade were the Best thing we had compared to the rest of our meal. Unfortunately this was a one and done for us ??‍"

They charged $10 for one empanada, even though they advertised multiple and showed 3 in the picture. It was a complete ripoff.

"I had an unbelievable experience at this restaurant. I ordered three dishes, and after waiting over an hour, I called to ask for an estimated time of arrival. They assured me that my food was on its way. However, more than 30 minutes later, I called again, only to be informed that they were just starting to prepare the three dishes I had ordered nearly two hours earlier. After almost two hours of waiting, it was a complete waste of my time. Thank you for the subpar customer service. I would recommend avoiding this place if you have friends and family visiting."

"This is a hidden jewel. It is in the basement. If you are looking for authentic Mexican food, this is your place. They can even make things less spicy upon request, unfortunately that doesn 't apply to the daily specials. They even offer for take out some of their home made salsas, try the green one. They make fresh fruit juices and aguas frescas , I highly recommend horchata , tamarind, hibiscus and mango. The only caveat with this place is that it is mostly takeout. They do have a couple of tables and can accommodate up to 6 patrons so if you are lucky grab a table otherwise get takeout. My family and I tried one of their specials (pork grinds in green sauce), beef soup, breaded chicken with rice and beans (the Mexican rice has carrots and peas), a cemita (it is a sandwich with a special bread with sesame seeds) and a torta cubana (a sandwich in a prtuguese roll) Everything was tasty, we were impressed by how fresh the ingredients were and how tasty were even the simple things like their refried beans. With a main dish they include 4 handmade corn tortillas. If you are shy about interacting with people. You can even order online, I wish they would publish their daily specials there. I am definitely coming back again and highly recommend it."

"This tiny restaurant is a pretty nice place to have a quick lunch while being in Elizabeth New Jersey. Especially for those who have to serve as jurors. The Court House is on tbe opposite corner of this restaurant, so if you dont like the food served in the cafeteria inside the building, I strongly recommend you to stop by this small restaurant. Prices are pretty good and you will get lots of food with a great Latin American flavour."

"Been patronizing this restaurant since 2011. I travel around the world for work but when visiting family, friends and colleagues come to NJ I have elected to bring them here because of the consistent customer service, sangria and picadas. The first young lady that was our sever excellent but at some point during our lunch we noticed she went to tend to the bar. My colleague doesn’t not drink alcohol and I was driving so we ordered a strawberry lemonade and a mint lemonade that were too sour and tart so we needed water after that. The 2nd young lady that came to the table seemed to have a problem that my colleague is comfortable drinking tap water, he pointed at his glass of water, ordered tap water, she came back with bottle water, at which he kindly reminded her, no bottle, tap water and she NEVER came back with his water. 3rd male server after a long wait still no water started tending our table brought bottle water. The music was way too loud to hear yourself have a conversation. The $35 picada: 2 pieces of fish and the steak was overcooked. We love to tip over 22% but since the gratuity was included, we chose not to leave an additional tip. I was so disappointed and embarrassed at the service and for those reasons I don’t think I’ll be bringing anyone here."
