Kirby's Korner Bakery

I had an amazing time baking my Christmas cookies at Kirbys tonight! It was such a fun experience, and the cookies turned out delicious!

I stopped by for breakfast and tried some donuts, which were absolutely delicious. I'm really glad to have discovered a new local bakery!

A hidden gem in a small town. Super friendly staff, what I had was delicious ample size portions. Reasonably priced for what you get, and that's quality. Do yourself a favor stop by there someday you will be glad that you did !!

The cookies are fantastic! We often get cakes from here to celebrate family birthdays, but I had a special request this time. I wanted a cake that looked like a can of Grizzly chew for my husband's birthday, and I have to say I'm speechless— it turned out incredible!

I haven't been to Kirby's since they moved to Manhattan from New Lenox (I know, crazy! . I was on the hunt for PB&J Paczki's. They weren't on their menu, but they were SO KIND to offer to make them for me! It absolutely made my husbands day (his FAT TUESDAY . They were so delicious! All the pastries, Donuts, coffee cakes, etc are phenomenal. Also on weekends they have epic biscuits and gravy!!! They can be stingy on bacon on breakfast sandwiches though. Sometimes they are great, other times you pretty much have a egg and cheese sandwich. Very disappointingand frustrating not worth the gamble. Too bad cause otherwise they would be the best breakfast sandwiches around.

I'm not quite sure what's happening lately, but I've found myself surrounded by bad choices, unkind individuals, and subpar products. If you're looking for day-old bread and doughnuts, this place is for you. I was really looking forward to grabbing some fresh treats for my wife early on a Sunday morning at 6 AM, but what I ended up with were stale doughnuts and a loaf of bread that was so hard I had to toss it out. Even microwaving the doughnuts didn’t help—they were still terrible. There are far better options for doughnuts at Dunkin’ just up the road, and that says a lot. What a letdown.

I have been driving through Manhattan for 30 years to get to work and refused to support the local businesses because the Manhattan Police were so ruthless about speed traps and I was apparently easy prey to their Quota system. Sadly, because of my protest I never gave this local gem a try. Now that there 's endless vehicle traffic passing through Manhattan and a new Sheriff in town that abides by the No Quota regulations, I do support Manhattan businesses. It makes me sad that I have missed out on this awesome bakery for so many years because of my anger for the Manhattan Police Department.
