"My extended family comes here multiple times a year and the staff know them. My immediate family comes here once every 5 years. We went for Mother's Day brunch which sounds like an odd choice. They have traditional breakfast options including things not on the menu like crepes. The breakfast burrito seems to be a hit. It's gigantic and shareable. The portions in general are huge. I had a chicken fajita skillet which didn't come with tortillas. I asked for them and they happily brought me some quickly. Everyone loved the food. This place is somewhat known for having really slow service. This day didn't disappoint. I think from the time we sat down to the time we started eating it might have been almost an hour. They weren't that busy either. If you come here, plan to socialize and relax. It's not a place to eat quickly. I think that's great in many circumstances. The prices seem to be super reasonable too!"

The good: very big portions. I ordered a taco plate, which came with beans and rice, and chips and salsa. It was way more food than one person could eat. The bag of chips were huge. The bad: not much else. Just very bland Mexican food. Definitely better options in the area.

Excellent service in a colorful atmosphere. The lunch specials were a good value and very good. Enchiladas verde for the win today. Great depth of flavor. The steak burrito was ok, the quality of the steak was good, spice level was improved with the addition of their Smokey salsa.

My dish was definitely spicy, even though it wasn’t mentioned on the menu. The server noticed that I only took a few bites but didn’t offer to remake it or compensate in any way. I didn’t express my complaint to her directly, but I did leave a good tip. However, I won’t be returning. Visualizza piatti

This place is amazing all the staff are really nice always make you feel like home. The chefs always get my order correct and all the food comes out tasting amazing 10/10 all the time. My favorite is always the Pozole and tacos but the picaditas are also really good. My mom is germaphobic and the staff are always understanding especially Claudia.

We had dinner here the other night and really enjoyed it. The ambiance is so fun and vibrant with bright colors and it was well kept and clean inside. The waitress we had was super friendly and accommodating. I had a vegetable burrito which was tasty and unique with yellow and green zucchini, portobello mushrooms and black beans. My dad had the salmon burrito which he also really enjoyed. We will surely return again. And I can't forget to mention that the margaritas were very good.

Visited here for a yelp event. We got to try the empanadas, guac/chips, and the moms enchiladas. I get enchiladas at almost every Mexican restaurant I go to, these were some of the best I have ever had! So so flavorful, lots of toppings, a kick of spice. Got to try the margaritas too, the owner has his own tequila brand- how cool! We had great service while here. The ambiance is ethnic and cozy. Grocery store attached as well with tons of smoothies. Check this spot out, Can't wait to try more! Visualizza piatti

This charming local restaurant offers authentic Mexican cuisine that is truly delightful. The chips are fresh and crispy, while the salsa is bright and full of flavor, with just the right amount of spice. We took our out-of-town guests, who were tired and jet-lagged, to enjoy some traditional dishes, and they immediately perked up. The portion sizes are generous, too. The service is cheerful and efficient, even with the restaurant bustling with customers. Keep in mind that it’s closed from Friday until Saturday evening, so plan your visit accordingly. While the parking lot can fill up quickly, there is street parking available.

We recently had a late dinner at this restaurant, and it had been years since my last visit, which I remembered as always being enjoyable. The menu is quite diverse, featuring unique items like duck taquitos alongside other intriguing choices. The chips and salsa were fresh and tasty. I ordered the blackened ahi tuna tacos, which came in generous portions and were packed with flavor. Unfortunately, later that evening I started to feel unwell, experiencing nausea and gastrointestinal issues the following day. This meal was the only thing I had eaten all day aside from some drinks, so it seemed to be the likely cause of my discomfort. This experience has somewhat dampened my impression of the...

"I went to Froggy's the other night with a friend for a midweek dinner. It is definitely not the first time I've been there, but it may be the last. First of all, The servers were really in the weeds and seemed to be really understaffed. I understand that it gets busy, and things get delayed. Nothing really got delayed, but we were looking for them a lot for water and stuff. Secondly, but most importantly, was the food. The oysters we had were good and fresh. However, their escargot variation was weird, especially with the peapods. They were out of anchovies for the ceaser salad, but after tasting it, I don't think they use anchovies in the dressing. The flavor of their dressing along with the raw shaved beet was not good. Our main courses were just not good. I ordered the Bouillabaisse and it was terrible. It was like a weird tomato-based sauce with over cooked proteins. The lobster has no meat in the tail, and their was no lobster meat added, as the server described in the special. Not only the weird sauce, no toast points or Rouille... They served it with mashed potatoes and vegetables that stuck out like a sore thumb. On top of that all, my mussels weren't de-bearded... I couldn't eat them. The desserts weren't any better. We had the passion fruit mousse and the poached pear. The mousse had a strange texture, like they didn't allow whatever gelatin mixture they used to set up correctly. The taste was ok, but got drowned out by the raspberry sauce. On the poached pear, where is the pear? All I tasted was poaching liquid and that's it. For the price and quality, there are tons of better French options around the area. I guess if I feel like normal french cuisine, that a true Frenchman would be proud of, I will across the tracks and down the street to the other French option. Honestly, I think they are way passed their prime and need to revamp everything before I come in again, especially their menu and quality. "I work not too far from this cafe and have been there several times. The teas and coffees are great--I especially have liked the lattes I 've had--and I 've also taken advantage of the packaged teas and small gift shop when I 've needed to give a gift. The quality of the food, though, has been inconsistent--sometimes good and sometimes rather disappointing. Memorably, I had one dish that was garnished with pickled daikon that would have made a nice garnish if sliced very thin--but it was served in huge chunks that were so strongly flavored as to be inedible. On the other hand, I have enjoyed the grilled 'cheese ' with tomato soup. Frequently, the restaurant is advertising for staff so I really think that the inconsistency is likely caused by the high turnover almost every place is having right now. So it 's the reason I 'm only giving three stars, but I also plan to keep going there, so it 's not a dealbreaker for me. If you want something sweet, I highly recommend the sliced layer cake, which comes from Pie Pie My Darling. The available cake flavor changes monthly. This restaurant also has entertainment fairly regularly (including sometimes in the evening, when they 're otherwise not usually open), and hosts some community activities. As some others have noted, the prices are a little high, but I think that they are not out of line for the area. Most of the seating is indoors, with a few sidewalk tables outside in nicer weather. Parking is relatively easy--there is a small parking lot for the strip mall, plus street parking and a small municipal lot across the street. From the Highland Park Metra station, the walk is an easy few blocks. Updated from previous review on 2022-08-14"
