"We had a reservation and were promptly shown to a table, it was down hill from there. We all ordered drinks and waited 45 minutes for them to arrive, no explanation so it must be normal service. We order our meals before the waitress can escape and settle in for another long 45 minutes. Since a number of the meat selections were not available, especially the Argentinian cuts,I ordered the Ribeye steak, medium rare, closer to rare. This is an Argentinian beef place, right, mmm this is going to be good. What I received was a small half inch thick, not medium rare, not juicy piece of meat. Two of the other three with me were far from happy with their meals, only the foodie was content, but then he had to be, he selected the place."

The steak dishes are great and we even tried the vegetarian gnocchi dish, everything was delicious and nicely prepared. Very attentive staff as well. Pricey, though.

I can't speak to the quality of the food. The restaurant was relatively empty. After being there for 30 minutes and having received only drinks (and not having our order for food taken) we left.

Whent for dinner and was overall very mediocre experience. The service was super slow and we were only Max 15 people in the restaurant, 3 hours and not one water refill. I took the fish plate that wasen't fresh. Visualizza piatti

Great Empanadas. Very nice cocktail menu and nice wine selection. I had the Ribeye from Argentina and it was very good. Some construction going on our front, but a nice building. The dining area is very good looking with lots of glass and exposed lights.

The food at this restaurant lacks flavor and is disappointing, especially considering the city's reputation for great dining options. It is not worth your time or money. Despite the appealing appearance of the dishes, they lack taste. Additionally, the staff seemed indifferent to the quality of the food they were serving.

I wanted to treat my family to a steak dinner in Old Montreal and stumbled upon this restaurant. The service was exceptionally friendly and attentive, the steaks were delicious (especially the platter for two that I shared with my son), and they had an interesting selection of wines and tasty fries. I would definitely return in the future. Visualizza piatti

L'Atelier d'Argentine is a nice place in a busy party street. It is great to sit outside, looking at the people passing by, drinking Malbec - of course if they bring it to you. We ordered a salad to share, bottle of Malbec and two main courses. Salad came, but no sign of our wine. We had to ask for it two times until they brought the bottle to us. Oh well... Salad was nice with fresh vegetables and great sauce. I ate lamb shepherd's pie and it was ok, but it was huge with a lot of lamb. However, nothing was special there, so it's just - ok.

We were so disappointed in our dinner tonight at this restaurant. First of all, the meal I wanted was "not ready yet" even though we were eating near 6:00. My partner and I both ordered the lamb dish. While the portion was generous the flavour was anything but! If it wasn't for the fresh tomatoes and onions on top the meal would have been tasteless. It was as if the chef (cook?) forgot to add any spice or seasoning! The dish wasn't cheap - $27.00 each. Oh - one more thing - we ordered a salad to share and the server just put the dish on the table in front of us and then said, "Oh, would you like separate plates?". It was a bizarre and disappointing experience in Montreal.

"Affable, knowledgable staff takes very pleasant care of you in this one of a kind location. Food is creative, but elegantly simple, and the wine list covers every contingency. The space celebrates both modern Montreal's sophistication and the famous inn's centuries of history which ooze out of the stone walls. Eating as a couple, we shared two starters (chunks of the cauliflower heads that had been roasting above rotisserie game hens) and a salmon tartar taken a subtle wasabi and mango direction. The provided bread board included half of a classic baguette and some delightfully chewy herb bread. We opted to share the for two special prime rib. Couldn't have made a better choice. The cut, intact on the bone, was brought to the table for a quick introduction before it was carved up for serving. The meat had been aged for eight days and was simply oustanding. Neither of us had ever had a prime rib of that quality, and the aging process threaded the needle perfectly aging another hour might have tipped the flavor towards a sour note. Instead, it was complex, tender, and the very definition of medium rare. Paired with a just right Saint Emilion, things couldn't have been better. The accompanying fresh greens in a vinaigrette played a cleansing role, and each of us opened a personal Staub mini cocotte to find a concoction of whipped potatos and gruyere that took care of the savory end of things with a satisfying flourish. Overly fed, we bravely avoided the very tempting dessert menu, but none the less caved and ate the small sweets that stealthily found their way to the table. Be sure to take a moment to wander the restaurant and absorb the contemporary design elements that don't for a moment hide or diminish the ancient beams and stones that are the soul of L'Auberge Saint Gabriel. We will gladly travel a few hundred miles to return to this gem."
