"We had a couple of hours and thought we would have dinner, having looked at the menu we chose the contoir des marais. We arrived at 6.50 pm, We were told that there were no outside tables were available, okay, so, we had an inside booth by the time we left at 8.20pm no-one had arrived at said empty tables. It took an age for someone to take our order, so chose not to have an apero! We ordered a shared mixed charcuterie and fromage pIatter, in honesty, it was tasty. We then ordered mains. I had smoked salmon salad, husband ordered jambon grillé. Husband's food was again, tasty. The salad on the other hand...... It was, by far, the worst salad I have ever eaten. Pluses... plenty of salmon, lettuce was nice, tomatoes what there was, were okay too. Negatives... pre-prepared and left in the fridge, so too cold, tiny salad no dressing), very few tomato cubes, asparagus was from a jar and was so soggy it bent over my fork when i lifted it, potatoes were from a tin and wet and tasteless, toast was from a cheap sliced loaf. It all arrived in a breakfast bowl. When asked, i explained that I was unhappy, but they just dismissed me. I have been to this restaurant before and have had a pleasant meal, Maybe it is just the salads that are terrible. But sadly, this has put me off going again.!"

Last time I dined at this restaurant, the food and service was excellent. This time, i 'm afraid, the restaurant fell well below my expectations. I have it on good authority that this place is a bit hit and miss, seems like we dined on a miss night.Overpriced fish dish (for what you got), a mediocre steak, with old fries mixed in with new, an indifferent service that made you feel that they didn 't really want you there.

I live here. I speak fluent French. It is a long while since I have had such rude, sullen, miserable service as this. My hen night, with friends just before my wedding. We were greeted by we have no fish we are likely to run out of steak . Fantastic. We just about got the steaks we ordered, after she flounced off to see how many were left. Then, they ran out of orange juice? Please? Orange juice?? I will never, ever go back until they change ownership. Appalling.
