Mario's Mexican Salvadorian

WOW wow WOW, such great food and great service. I've been back three times in a week. Chef is from San Antonio and the spicy deliciousness of the food is so great. I've found my new favorite place for Mexican food. So glad I moved to the neighborhood!!!! You will love this place.

It might have just been an off day, but to be honest, I was disappointed. We arrived around 2 PM when it wasn't busy at all. The service was quite slow, and the food was only average at best. Everything tasted rather bland and lacked flavor. Additionally, parking can be somewhat challenging in this area.

To be fair, my review probably didn't influence this, but every time I visited after that initial experience, I kept returning because the food is excellent. I simply didn't order the same dish again, which means no cheese was involved. However, I did go a few more times after that, and the service was fantastic. They definitely deserve a 5-star rating, and we will continue to go there. Visualizza piatti

I miss Mario's I was a regular there for about a year and then I moved to Austin this past July. The staff were all so friendly and I had a great time getting to know them! I've probably had every item on the menu (both food and drink wise) and was never disappointed. I almost want to take a day trip back to Dallas JUST to go there. Mario's is one of those special places that can't be replaced.

I will say that all their plates here are absolutely delicious! They are always on spot! My husbands loves their Flank Steak for lunch, my brother loves their sopa de marisco and I enjoy everything I try here! Now in regards to the service it's always exceptional! The owner is always there with a huge smile and you can tell that his employees love to work there as well! As for the ambiance it too is on spot! It's always clean and the music is just right.

My previous 5-star reviews still stand after a visit in December 2023 for Sunday dinner. No more Covid masking required but partitions still exist between many of the booths. Very sedate atmosphere on a Sunday evening. Prices have increased a bit after Covid years. For example: one Salvadoran tamal is $3.50. Service excellent from aspect of greeting by host, attentive waiters, and water kept refilled. Tostadas and black bean dip, green tomatillo, and red salsas still included and replenished at no extra charge. So glad Mario's has kept up high standards for food and service. Highly recommended. Although I don't live in Dallas, I've dined here twice, and both times the food has been fantastic. My first visit was in 2023, where I had the chimichanga with shredded chicken, which was delicious. Now, returning in 2024, I tried the Baja shrimp, and it was incredible! The sautéed vegetables were a highlight, and the rice was excellent as well. The shrimp, which were large and wrapped in bacon, were truly impressive. We also ordered an appetizer of yellow queso, and that was delightful. I wasn't particularly impressed with the top-shelf margarita, but I definitely plan on returning—next time, I might just stick with a beer.

I went here for a friends birthday celebration. Their chips come out with a salsa verde, rojo and a black bean dip. I enjoyed the black bean dip the most. I got the Fajita Montada with Beef but do not have the pricing like usual. This was pretty good overall. The cheese enchiladas had a good cheese pull and the fajita beef was tasty. We had a rather large party so the server had to overwhelmed. He did a good job overall but they would not split the check up because of the large party which is why I do not have the price, I think it is around $16ish. I did try someone's Beef Fajita Quesadilla and this was good too. They have good beef so I would like to try the Carne Asada some other time.

This is my experience with Mario 's for lunch. Upon arrival the hostess greeted us very friendly and showed us to a table very quickly. The server was great, we order a mojito and jalapeño margarita, AMAZING! We ordered the queso con chorizo, it was amazing and the presentation of it with the fire was Wow! We ordered the combo enchiladas and brisket enchiladas. Food was great, very tasty and temperature was perfect. Only "complaint was the never refilled our chips. The server was slow with drinks and getting us out check. The decor was cute but I have to say the flashing lights around the tables is a little much. So, service 4 out of 5 and food 5 out of 5.
